My DD7 studied the Pilgrims in November (who doesn't? LOL) Anyway, I found a paper she wrote in school, I guess the kids had to write what they would bring with them on a trip to the New World if they had been a Pilgrim.

She wrote 'If I were a Pilgrim, some special things I would bring with me. I would bring money to buy Plymouth stuff. I would bring a training toilet because I don't want to go in a bucket.I would bring food because I mit get ill."

This is too funny! You know those Pilgrims had so many souvenier shops!

She has obviously been well trained by Disney to expect gift shops first thing! :rotfl: :rotfl:

How adorable!

I like how she would bring a training toilet so she didn't have to use a bucket! The way kids minds think, you just gotta laugh.

This one just cracks me up. :rotfl: Can't say that I blame her...I think I'd bring one as well.

My granddaughter (also 7 and in 2nd grade) had to write what she thought the Pilgrims had for dinner on Thanksgiving.. She wrote:

"Turkey, cranberry sauce, potatoes, applesauce....and beer." :rotfl:

Whatever made her think of "beer", we'll never know.. No one drinks here.. LOL

Another 2nd grader story here - lesson was on how things are different now than in the colonial days. Typical questions - Pilgrims did this, now we do this . . . Well, there is this Mexican restaurant here that we go to ALL the time - I realized now, way too much. The question was the Pilgrims grew their food in the fields, we get our food from ______________. Her response, La Hacienda.

That is like whn my oldest was 18 months old. My DH works nights, so it was just me and the baby at dinnertime. One day we were all in the car, and I was at a red light. Sitting across from us was Wendy's. We hear a little voice from the back seat announce "supper! There's supper!" :confused3 :teeth:
