We will arrive on 12/16. Not certain yet where we will stay for one night and then we checkin to BCV for 12-17-12/24. Count us in. We love VWL and usually stay there or BWV. We are looking forward to trying BCV this year.

Well, as of right now we have 8 families (not sure how large...some may be families of 1) interested in a get together at VWL on some date between the 18th and 22nd of December. I have included a list of everyone in the OP. If people let me know (PM's are fine) how many are in their family, I will include that info. In addition, if people are willing to make either some hot chocolate or bring some snacks (thanks Muushka) I will note that as well. As for day...I think the 18th and 20th are out (dates for MVMCP), but the 19th or 21st seem ok. Please let me know your thoughts.

What a great way to spend the holidays. I am looking forward to it!

We are a family of 2, no kiddos. The 19th is a Monday and the 21st is a Wed.
We could probably nail it down way prior to leaving, right? You know us DIS/DVCers-habitual planners . Either day is good for us. We need to pick a time. We are also pretty flexible on that.

Anyone like homemade Chex Mix??? Love that stuff personally. Or I could make something sweet. Chocolate chip cookies???

My thought is to nail it down very soon. depending upon how many, I may want to contact VWL to make sure they would not have a problem with our "rowdy" little hot chocolate gathering.

Any time is fine with me, but I figure an evening (7:30 or 8:00) would be best for most people....Feel free to correct me, if I am wrong.

Once I hear from more people...we can lock this down

I too am a bit of a freak when it comes to my trip planning...surprise, surprise.

Hi New Yawka --

What a great idea! Thanks for organizing this. We will be there with bells on our toes! Two adults, one 10-year-old. We'll bring something Christmas-ey. This is our first trip home as well, so I have no idea of a good place to meet.

Can't wait to meet everyone! We'll be quite a group!

I'm wondering if later wouldn't be better. Here's my thinking. I assume most people will be going to the parks. Depending on the park, it may be closed (AK) or it might be open late for the fireworks (Epcot Illuminations) or people may stick around to look at the Xmas lights such as MGM's Festival of Lights. My guess is that most people may not be back by 7:30 or 8. Perhaps 9 or 9:30 might be a better time (I think this would cover late activities at most parks except Epcot). Thoughts?

New Yawka, we will be at VWL from the 18th until the 26th. We have tickets to the VMCP on the 20th. We would love to join in! I agree with Gary, I think a later time would be better as we have no idea which night we are going to do the CP, go to Obborne lights, ect. As the time gets closer we will firm up the rest of our schedule. We are a family of six, dh and me plus 4 kids ranging from 7 to 14 years old. (Don't worry, they are not TOO wild!) Let us know the date and time and we will make plans to come and help out with the refreshments! I think 90 days out when most folks make their eating plans ect... would be good to let everyone know for sure

I am excited about the responses and look forward to meeting everyone. As you will now see in the OP, I have tentatively scheduled the meet for 9:00pm on December 19 in the Iron Spike Room at VWL.

I agree with the thought of doing it a little later (although my wife may kill me, as our kids are often in bed by 9:00....we do make exceptions when at WDW).

We can reconsider the date/time as it gets closer, but it is only fair to those who want to make other plans to narrow down a time.

Since Shellybird has graciously agreed to bring something Christmasy, I have put her down as bringing a live Reindeer....I thought this would be great entertainment for the kids
