How Many Stops Does The Steam Train Make Inside The Park And Is It Quicker To Walk Or Take The Train From One Side To The Other
Any Info Would Help

Welcome to the DIS ISLES24!! :wave2:

The train stops in Frontierland, Mickey's Toontown Fair, and Main Street. It arrives in each station every 4 to 10 minutes according to the Official Guide.

I think it would be faster to walk to the back of the park than taking the train if you all healthy walkers. But it is fun trip to take just for the heck of it.

Also, if you are in the back of the park and want out fast while a parade is going, I think the train would be better.

Happy planning!! :flower:

Quicker to walk, I think, but I can be lazy. I am taking the train if I am in the back and want to head to the front.

Tired ride it two or three times without getting off, for a nice rest break. Each lap around the MK is about 20 minutes.I do this often. :goodvibes :earsboy: :sunny:

Our way for doing the MK, is first day morning, walk up Main Street and go to the left to Adventure land. Very casual pace, hit some shops and return through the castle around noon and go back to resort for pool time and avoid the crowds. Returning to MK in evening, we board the train and get off, either at Frontierland or Tootown and stroll back through Tomorrowland. Seems to me less back tracking, everyones happy, with some shopping thrown in and saves wear and tear on the legs, not racing pass stuff we already have done. One thing I reaaly hate doing on vacation is backtracking. Only got enough stamina in these old legs for a once around but got to have at mid day break. Always done that and alway will!

I don't think the train runs during parades (according to the Unofficial Guidebook). I think it has something to do with the parade route crossing the tracks.

They dont run during the fireworks and about 10-15 minutes before the fireworks start but they do run during the parades...

You are right...it doesn't run "during" the parade (as I posted  ), I should have said right before the parade starts....the crowds on Main Street get very hard to navigate through. The parade crosses the tracks in Frontier Land, so if you catch it in Mickey's Toontown Fair, you still have a shot at getting to the front gate faster. :sunny:

The train can beat walking to Frontierland from Main St. if the timing is correct.

In the "old" days when guests were allowed to wait and shop on Main Street before rope drop, we would board the train. It would start just as the MK was opened and we would get to Frontierland before those running....er walking fast... from the ropes. It was a very slick way to get to the mountains for my guys.

I still love to take it if we're heading in that area anytime during the day. Walt Disney's magic lives in that train for me.
