If you had a box of steakum (frozen steak to make steak and cheese) and you put it in refrigerator instead of back in freezer do you think its still good? would you put it back in freezer or throw it away?

It depends...How long has it been in the fridge? If more than a few days, I'd say pitch it. If it's only been a few days, then as long as you cook it within the next day or two you should be fine. I wouldn't refreeze it though.

You shouldn't refreeze raw meat once it completely thaws. If you don't want to use it now you can cook it and then freeze it.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that things can be frozen and refrozen as long as they don't go bad in between. I would think something like Steakums that shrink wrapped would be fine to re-freeze, even though my Grandmother would swat me for saying so.

"Refreezing
Once food is thawed in the refrigerator, it is safe to refreeze it without cooking, although there may be a loss of quality due to the moisture lost through thawing. After cooking raw foods which were previously frozen, it is safe to freeze the cooked foods. If previously cooked foods are thawed in the refrigerator, you may refreeze the unused portion. Freeze leftovers within 3-4 days. Do not refreeze any foods left outside the refrigerator longer than 2 hours; 1 hour in temperatures above 90 °F.

If you purchase previously frozen meat, poultry or fish at a retail store, you can refreeze if it has been handled properly."

It's fine

I do it all the time
