Steakhouse 71 Ordering from Dinner menu during lunch

Has anyone successfully ordered a dinner menu item during lunch service? I just want to order the 6 oz filet but am unable to get a dinner reservation during my trip.

We were there two days ago and wanted the filet as well. We didn't ask about ordering the 6oz but noticed a 4oz on the kids menu and asked if we could have that since we wanted appetizers and dessert and needed tummy room. Our server went and asked someone and came back saying it was ok. YMMV. The steak was perfect, small so not very thick but still cooked just the way we like it with pink in the middle. We were offered kid sides as well and chose mashed potatoes which were very good and a small simple salad. We also had onion rings, the brioche bread, creme brulee, and the layer cake. Everything was so good. Our daughter had the pear cocktail which she really enjoyed as well. Hopefully someone can report on ordering a dinner item at lunch.

It is highly unlikely that they will have prepped items for dinner service by lunchtime.

Update- I was able to get a dinner reservation and the 6 oz filet, which was perfect.
