Steakhouse 71 - can't cancel online

I swore I saw a thread about issues canceling this restaurant but now can't find it!

I need to cancel our Thanksgiving lunch there and it says to call. With current wait times, I'm not real anxious to do so and am hoping someone else had this same glitch and found a work around. Did the cancel option ever show up? If not were you able to cancel through chat or did you have to call?

(I just canceled a breakfast there last week without any issues!)
 
Can you modify it? If so, push it back a week or so to get you out of the busy Thanksgiving time and then see if you can cancel the new time.

I tried modifying, and moved it to the following week, but when I went to cancel it said to call. Augh!
 
I cancelled last week in the app, it said I had to call, but seconds later I got an email that it was cancelled, and we were not charged.

Same issue. I keep moving it forward! The thought of calling Disney with all the wait times is not appealing :headache:

I'm glad I'm not the only one, but also sorry you're in the same boat! I am going to keep kicking it down the road, too, in hopes Disney IT or phone wait times improve :rolleyes2
 
I had that issue the other day with Trattoria said to call to cancel, but then when I went in about a half hour later it showed that it was canceled. Who knows about the wonders of Disney IT…
 
I'm in the same bind. Tried to cancel a Steakhouse 71 reservation, and got an email that it was cancelled, but it is still showing up in my plans, even with updating to the newest version of the app, and online. It says to call, but every time I've tried to call, it won't even connect, saying circuits are busy. Tried modifying it, but the new time/date didn't stick, either. Ugh.

The inability to cancel at all online appears to be a Steakhouse 71 system problem. I have been trying for several weeks and continue to get the "You must call" message. With wait times on the phone being so high, I have been moving it forward to a later date. I may try asking a CM to help when I am there at the end of November.
 
I emailed them and asked them to cancel, it took about a week for it to disappear from MDE but they are gone now. For what its worth I recall people saying that if you cancel it and get the message you have to call that its actually cancelled in Disney's system and its just a glitch in the MDE program. Not sure if that's true but that is what people stated previously.
 
Maybe if it were easier for these to cancel I might be able to grab a dinner reservation for December!
Thank you for the "like" on the one reservation I released. I cannot PM yet - so if you do not mind posting for everyone to see, what are the dates you are looking for a dinner reservation, for how many, and which park or parks on those dates? I ask, as I may have a few more to release.

I would say try calling in the evening. About a month ago I called a little before 9:00 pm and waited only a couple of minutes to talk to someone.
