I have booked an anniversary dinner at SH55 this fall. Any must-haves on the menu? I'm not too keen on seafood so that limits the appetizers. Steak will definitely be the entree and the chocolate cake for dessert but am hoping to hear about what you love!

I'm also hoping they have the Poison Apple-tini :)

I always get the filet mignon is always very good. We both tried the 18 oz. Porter house a few weeks agao and thought it was okay but not fantastic. All of the side dishes we have had have been very good as well. I love the 24 layer chocolate cake.

We went for out anniversary this year in July (along with our well behaved 8 year old). Here is from my trip report: "We had Steakhouse 55 reservations at 5:30 so we headed back out about 4:45. It is a pleasant walk from our hotel through DD to the Disneyland hotel. The restaurant’s lounge is literally next door to Goofy’s Kitchen. It has a thick curtain (and maybe a wall) separating the two areas. It is interesting to see this rat pack style lounge on one side and families waiting for Goofy’s kitchen on the other side. 5:30 is the earliest dinner reservation you can make and we were the second party there for dinner. We requested and were seated at a nice booth that could see much of the room, but felt a bit secluded as well, which was nice. We decided to skip appetizers, in favor of dinner and dessert. We ordered our meals and were pleasantly surprised with an amuse bouche for the adults and one for our daughter courtesy of the chef! The adults had a gazpacho with olive tapenade which was delicious. Our daughter had a compressed watermelon bite she loved. We had sourdough bread loaf for bread service, which was very good and I suspect made on premises at the bakery in DCA. We each had a steak, I had the Rib eye and the husband had Porterhouse. I had mine medium rare, while my hubby had rare. I loved my steak, seasoned perfectly and so juicy. Hubby said his steak was good, and he ordered the Shallot-bacon marmalade, which he said really complimented the steak (it was served on the side). Our daughter had the kids salmon meal with butter pasta. We ordered the seasonal risotto (that night it was Duck Philly cheesesteak) and the Gruyere fingerling casserole. Both were good, but the casserole was better. With the size of the steaks, the two sides were easily split between the two of us and our daughter (and I shared some of my steak with her, so big!). We ended the meal with the most delicious vanilla bean Crème Brule, and the hubby had a snifter of scotch. Our Amazing Waiter was Oscar, who ensured our meal was fronted with spectacular service! He even surprised us with a decadent chocolate mousse with mickey ears and a Happy Anniversary Chocolate Plaque! It was a wonderful experience and I will happily return."

I actually wanted to try the amazing looking chocolate cake, but after all the food it would have been too much. Since we were sprinkled with a bit of Disney magic that decision ended up being a good thing. With the chocolate moose and the creme, it would have been way too much.

My favorite cut of steak is rib-eye and I had it at Steakhouse 55. It was wonderful. I ordered it with a bernaise sauce but the steak didn't need it and went largely unused. I also had the truffle mac and cheese and I would definitely order it again. My husband and I shared the potato casserole and it was okay but it was just swimming in butter. We also had the chocolate cake-share it as it is really big.

The Lounge and Steakhouse at 55 is just one of those upscale locales at Disneyland. Things cost more, but the service and results speak for themselves. People mention the private Clubs, but to get a taste of that level of service, the Steakhouse is as good as they come at the Mouse's House. As much as Disneyland caters to kids and families, opportunities exist to experience what upper scale really is available at a price. You are greeted by name, people remember your preferences, and your meals become experiences.

I had the Rib Eye steak and it was the best steak I have ever had. DH and I shared a couple of sides, but I can't recall which ones they were. We did share the Chocolate Cake, it was wonderful. Have a great time.

Thanks for your comments everyone! I like the idea of sharing the sides. Im happy to hear about the amazing service and ambience... it's our 20th anniversary so we hope it will be memorable :)
