We like to go to places we haven't gone before. We have been to Le Cellier and thought it was overrated. We went to Shula's, and quite frankly, it was the best steak I have ever had. So those two spots are out. We currently have a reservation for Boathouse, but are not sure if we should go there or Yachtsman. Anyone been to Boathouse? How was it?

Can't help with Boathouse, but we did yachtsman last trip and it was simply amazing.

Is it Yachtman that you have to wear a sport coat?

Nobody has been to Boathouse yet that could give an opinion?

For quality, Yachstman is in between Shula's (best), and LeCellier (ok). You don't have to dress up at Yachtsman, just don't wear a tank top or ripped up jeans or swimwear.

Boathouse hasn't been open very long, so reviews are scarce so far.

Thinking about having to switch from Boathouse to Yachtsman. Would a polo and a pair of cargo shorts suffice at Yachtsman?

We are not fans of Yachtsman. The steak was fine - not great, not bad - fine. But the atmosphere was less than stellar. We dines late - 8:30 or 9 as I recall - and the place of full of children. Not well behaved children mind you but annoying, loud, tired children who just wanted to take a nap. We had the family next to us literally push their kids into or space because they were so annoying and fidgety. Not the atmosphere I expect when paying that much for dinner.

Don't misunderstand. We have kids of our own and understand that this is Disney. Our kids stayed with grandma and grandpa while we ate.

We asked this question about 2 months ago.

We were able to snag 2 adrs. 1 for Shulas & 1 for YS. Do to some questions I asked about smaller children, we already canceled the 1 for shulas, and thinking about doing the same for YS... My twins aren't going to be a problem as well as my 1 nephew, it's just we'll have a soon to be 3 yr old & I've heard they kinda frown upon bad behavior...

I will let u know that there is a hidden gem at Turf Club...The Prime Rib is Really good..

I had a NY strip at Shutters, (Caribbean Beach resort),
It was so good, I went back a few nights later for another.

Boathouse is excellent, highly recommended. Fresh seafood, unique selection of food available. I suggest you go before DDP ruins yet another high quality restaurant.

For steaks, Shula can't be beat.

Haven't been to Boathouse, but love Yachtsman. With that said, we are trying Boathouse on our next trip.

Absolutely. You will be in the norm in that attire.

Absoutely! In your polo & cargo shorts you will be better dressed than some of your fellow diners. :earsboy:

The filet "Oscar Style" at the Boathouse is really good. You can choose 8 or 12 oz and it comes with lump crab and asparagus, it is AWESOME.

The char crusted New York steak at the Flying Fish Cafe was the best steak I've ever had in my life!

Shula's is must do for us every visit but we are also trying Boathouse for the first time in November.

We love Yachtsman. Go there a half-dozen times a year and always enjoy it.

However, for the best steak take a very short cab ride to the Bull & Bear in the Waldorf Astoria.
