I noticed if you make a reservation over 14 days you can't get a ticket package deal, so if you still wanted to get the package but you want to stay longer than 14 days is there a way around still getting the package deal?

Saw 1810 basically you have a few options. One is to book back to back packages that will meet your needs this can be expensive. Second and based on how often you intend to dine out and tour the parks is to get Annual Passes and Tables in Wonderland card and book your resort as room only. AP prices is comparable to a 10 day park hopper pass. TIW allows you to order A LA CARTE and includes Adult Beverages

Packages are limited to 10 day park tickets, even if you book more than 10 nights stay. As Mike said, you do have a couple of options. Annual Passes are a bit more than a 10 day hopper though.
An annual platinum pass is $779. Platinum Plus AP (includes water parks, ESPN and golf) is $869
A 10 day park hopper is $515
10 day Hopper plus (water parks) is $530
and a 10 day Hopper plus, with memory maker is $699.

I have a spreadsheet to calculate the break even on the AP. I'm considering taking 2 trips in less than a year. For me, it is between the 3rd and 4th days of the second trip (total park days 13-14) where the AP starts saving money. I only do the hopper and not the water parks (plus) or memory maker.

Sorry Jim I forgot I bought mine before latest price increase and it will be good for 13 months so next year is covered as well TIW is only for 12 months but we find that it saves us as we eat out at least once a day during our trips

You can save EVEN MORE on AP as well by buying the Disney Gift Cards to pay for it. I buy ours at Sam's Club at a "Roughly" 5% discount although they just increased the prices so now it's closer to 4%. However even 4% discount on $779 is another $31 of savings.

Better yet is if you can buy your "Tickets" at a "Discount" (employer discounts, AAA, undercover tourist, etc...) and use them ONCE then go to customer service to "Convert" it to an AP, the value of your ticket converts from the "Discounted Price" to the "Gate Price" and THAT value is applied to your AP.

We did this last August. What's better, is that I can get the tickets at a HUGE discount compared to most other sites because my employer (at that time) is a "Preferred" Partner with Disney, and as such they get a HUGE savings, plus it's all through the Disney Site so I was also able to use the Gift Cards to pay for them giving a better discount.

In the end, I probably saved about $350 on 3 Annual Passes (Platinum only)

I also bought the TIW. For us it paid for itself in one trip. I was, however, a bit upset that now you get most of the discounts that you get with TIW, with your AP (a few exceptions) but the TIW "Includes" 18% gratuity where the AP does not. The advantage being that if you don't feel the service was worth the 18% tip, you can tip more appropriately. Still, 20% Discount then add in 18% Tip is still 2% full savings overall (versus no savings)

Ok some good ideas, i was just thinking i would book a longer stay at the fort but with the 10day ticket deal, like maybe 2 1/2 weeks at the fort with the 10 day ticket, but sounds like they won't let you do that from what you guys are sayn. Could i book my package and then call back and add nites to it you think? So i guess what i'm really asking is about staying longer at the fort but with just getting the 10 day ticket deal, sorry if so confusing

The tickets are valid for 14 days from First Use, so if you aren't using them on, say your First 2 days and your last 2 days, you would be okay. I also think that given that you are staying longer than 14 days, you could possibly reach out to a CM directly and see if they can "Assist" with some magic to extend the time before expiration. It's my understanding that it can be done, but I don't know what needs to happen to get it done.
