Staying on site to get in early

We will be at IOA for the first time and have decided to stay on site to get in early for HP.Since we will be staying at RPR what will be the best/fastest way to get to the park? We will have a car but I was thinking that either walking or using the free transportation would be better. Since we don't know anything about the hotel or distances any advice is appreciated!

It's about a 5 minute walk to IOA. Enjoying the rain???

I am actually in MN taking care of grandbaby.Will be in FL Aug 2.So you're another Mid Hudson WDW/Universal fan?!?!
