Whenever we have stayed on-site we have always used the bus transportation to/from the parks as we flew for the vacation and didn't drive our car.

The next time DH and I stay on-site we will be driving. We could still use the bus transportation, but if we choose to drive our own car to the parks do we still have to pay for parking. Or with your stay at a resort do you get a "parking pass?"

Parking is free for On Site guests. It's rare that you get an actual parking pass now. You will most likely scan your Magic Band.

Yea, they used to give you a paper parking pass for your window but i think now you just scan your band...

I think you will like driving to the parks.. its often less of a hassle than riding the busses. My only issue is that even after umpteen trips, i still don't have my bearings with me (directions) when i drive at WDW.. so my wife usually does...

Paper parking passes are a thing of the past. They scan your Magic Band (or plastic room key) when you get to the toll plaza.

I somt bother with finding my bearings. I know where I start and where I’m going. And I follow the signs. Coming from an MK area resort and going to Epcot? Follow the Epcot resorts area signs. Have one person read the signs to navigate and the other person do what the navigator says.

We always drive to the parks and find it much more pleasant than using the buses. The directional signage is very good!

We didn’t get a parking pass when we stayed at CBR in May 2015, but did when we stayed at WL in May 2017. So, it’s a little hit and miss. But if you do t get one, they’ll scan your MB, so no worries!

We love driving to the parks. The only park I don't enjoy driving to is MK. Once you park then you have to take the tram or walk to the monorail or ferry, then walk to the gate. Totally first world problems haha but I find it the least convenient. Last years trip ( 2017) we still had the paper parking pass but they did scan our magic bands. Our next trip is May so we will see then if it's just the band, I'm sure it is by now. I have found driving to Epcot on nights we see illuminations so much more enjoyable! I think you'll love driving!

Very good point. :drive:
