Staying offsite

We will be staying offsite in December and it will be my first time using online booking i.s.o. calling.

I have read that you must fill in your reservation number, but is there an option for those staying offsite?

No, Disney's not interested in your offsite reservation number as you are not eligible for 180 + 10 booking. You must book day by day at 180 days as you are not staying at a Disney resort.

When you read on the boards "You must fill in your reservation number" that is the Disney resort reservation number to qualify for 180 + 10.
