Staying offsite and just booked advance FP+ for next week!

Oh I am not arguing with that. I was looking at it from the perspective of people making money out of Disney. I mean you're not allowed to re-sell your tickets. Is that not similar?

Ultimate Tourist re-sells tickets, plain and simple. So does AAA. The question now is, will they figure out a way to sell them pre-loaded with some FP+ already on them. They would be selling the ticket at "cost" and charging for the service provided, same as a travel provider.

I will be shocked if there isn't a pre-load option offered by Disney. It's the only way BTG's will be able to function under the new system

You're going to have to lock yourself in to a park and rides 60 days in advance if you want to experience the main attractions.

And I think this is exactly what Disney wants and really don't care that it makes it a bad experience for some. In fact they will sell it as a great thing even though there are many of us that don't believe it.

When Walt was developing and building Disneyland one of the major concepts behind it was to make the experience inside the berm better than the outside world. Hence the "most magical place on earth" moniker. I don't see how FP+ does this? I don't see how locking into a ride 60 days in advance is magical at all.

I'm not sure they would. Sounds to me like what a good Travel Agent would do for a customer. I could see UT selling park passes that now come "pre-loaded" with FP+. The question was posed whether allowing off site people to pre-book might cause phantom FPs to be booked that the "booker" did not intend to use, and I think the answer to that is "yes". But I'm not sure Disney could stop it, and I'm not sure they would care.

I thought the same thing about APs having unlimited access. What's to stop a local AP holder from loading let's say their family's bands/cards with FPs, and then renting them out by the week? From what I understand, you don't need to use the band for park entry to have the FPs work.

I guess the question is would enough of this stuff be going on to really affect anyone adversely.

I agree but it doesn't seem to me that Disney cares about that right now.

If the finger scan doesn't match up can't they take the AP from those guest and you would lose the benefits for the remainder of the year?

I don't get the "you won't be able to ride" . . they are still going to balance the FP+ slots with stand by waits. Most things top out at the 1 hour wait as that is the longest (most) people are willing to wait. We were just there and just waited the 1 hour for Toy Story and Belle because we have never done them before I wanted to see what they were all about. If we went again, I'd happily skip both if we didn't get a FP and waits were an hour.

I like the FP+ in that you can pick your 3 priorities and know you can do those without a wait. Some pick meeting characters, some thrill rides and seniors like my mom in wheelchair might want a nice spot for a parade.

Careful. There are posters on here that think that is the best part of the new system. They also can't believe that anybody would want to tour any differently than they do -- their method is the best and everyone should do it that way.

But I'm with you -- I personally like to see the weather forecast before I decide which park to go to on which day. Or even if we will do a park that day. I wish they hadn't set it at 60 days out, but now I can't see any way of changing that.

Well, you aren't allowed to re-sell your ticket that you have already used but what are the rules for a unused ticket. If you buy a ticket and then aren't able to go and never have or never will use the ticket, can you not sell it for the same cost to someone?

My understand has always been that you can resell unused tickets.

No - they're not. FP+ has priority over SB. So if the CM sees a FP+ holder coming down the queue they have to hold the SB line til all of the FP+ holders get in, either to the ride vehicle or the merge. If people keep coming with FPs the SB line could be held indefinitely. In our experience, a posted 5 minute SB wait became 25 minutes in realtiy, a few times.

This is the change from the FP- system that I dislike the most.

There aren't enough FP+'s to go around. Yet there are too many being issued. Epic Fail.

But there wouldn't be a finger scan on the AP. The "renter" would use their personal park ticket for entry and then use the MB given by the AP holder for their FP+ experiences.

Speculation is that they have increased the percentage of ride capacity used for FP. Reports are that it is as high as 70% (or more). And the addition of FP to rides that didn't have it at all have taken away the opportunities that used to be there for a reliably short wait. FP does not happen in a vacuum. Every person they decide to put through FP is one less standby person with access that day.

I used to be able to ride everything with no more than a 20 minute wait. Why would I decide something is now a "plus" if many of those rides now require an hour wait?

But there wouldn't be a finger scan on the AP. The "renter" would use their personal park ticket for entry and then use the MB given by the AP holder for their FP+ experiences.

I would think the AP ticket would have to be shown to enter the park for the day to use the FP+. If the AP ticket never enters the park then the FP+s linked to it would not be useable.

I don't mean "balance" like hold the line. . I mean balance like give out only enough FP+ during the window times to still have enough ride capacity to move a standby line through at a resonable pace. They know how many FP+ can move through in an hour. The standby lines manage themselves because people self opt-out on how long they are willing to wait.

I still don't see that happening. It's just too much of a financial risk to put your AP's MB into the hands of a stranger and trust that they won't try to use it for park entry. One "incident" and your investment is gone.

So far that has not been the case.

This pretty much sums up the core reason people dislike it so much.

FP is the currency by which Disney operates this system. They are being pressured (both internally and externally) to have MORE FP slots, not less. It's like they have a printing press for cash in their basement and we have to just trust them not to keep printing more.
