staying off site-need to take a mid-day break..where?

We usually stay on-site or close enough off-site to take mid-day breaks, but this year we are staying 30-40 minutes away!!! Where could we go rest after lunch just to re-group or should we just make that drive back and forth during the day? (it sounds too far to me) I've often heard of quiet spots, but it will be during the 3rd week of June and I'm sure very hot! Just wondered what you guys do??

Depending on the ages in your group, what I would do is make a PS for @ 1-2:00 in the afternoon either at the park or at one of the resorts nearby and have a nice long, leisurely & COOL lunch/break. Hopefully, you would be well rested after to continue hitting the park. Or if you have young ones with you, I would head to Town Hall on Main Street. In the back of the building is a small theatre-type room with cartoons playing. I'd park it there for an hour or two to rest and regroup and stay cool. When we were there, we practically had the building to ourselves. Good place for a nap! Or I would take a spin around the resort Monorail a couple of times to stay cool and get off my feet, or spend the afternoon taking in theatre shows like Hall of Presidents, Diamond Jamboree and Country Bear Hoedown.

Tom Sawyers island would be a nice place to rest, also TTA in Tommorrow land. I also like the idea of riding the resort monorail. Either just take a break there or check out one of the resorts, have a quick snack then rest in their lobby or on the lounge chairs!

These are great ideas. I have a 6 year old little boy... Love the idea of going to City Hall and watchin movies.... I also have heard that going to the Grand FL and getting ice cream?? Anymore ideas out there?
