Staying off-site and visiting WDW Hotels

Hi all, it's been so long since i stayed off-site. But we are planning on staying at the Caribe Royal for 2 nights prior to our cruise in August. We are surprising my son with Legoland for his birthday!

My question is, can I still visit the WDW Hotels at night, maybe to walk around, ride a monorail, shop and eat dinner? I would love to go to the Polynesian, eat at Capt Cooks (they have Dole Whip there!), maybe catch Wishes by the water.

Trying to get a little Disney in before the cruise! And yes, so hard to be so close to Disney without actually visiting the parks, but maybe this would hold me over.

How would I park the car? Just tell the attendant we are visiting? Or will they turn me away because we are not resort guests.

Thanks for any advice!

depends upon how busy the resort is - (not the parking lot) - if the place is sold out - you will be told no unless you have reservation for a meal.

otherwise you get a parking permit for 3 hours.

so yes you can visit - but if you get told no - just go to another MK resort.

never try this on nights when the MK is having a special party or show - or nights when EMH is at the MK.

Thank you! We are planning for the last week in August. Usually not over crowded in the past. But a 3 hour parking pass is perfect and just what I was hoping for. I will look into EMH as well.

Edit to add - No EMH for Magic Kingdom!

I don't think this is true. If you have priority seating reservations for a resort restaurant, say at Chef Mickey's at the Contemp, you'll be allowed in and park no matter what is going on elsewhere.

This isn't actually correct,
Any body can visit a Disney hotel to go to a restaurant or get a drink at a bar it will not matter if there is anything special going on!
They encourage people to look around their resorts as this is what gets people staying!
