Staying in concierge for first time--what to expect?

We're going to splurge a bit and stay in WL concierge for our Christmas trip. WL is our fave (AKL is a very close second) and since we check in during value season and already have a AAA discount (hoping for AP rate, of course) the price is within our budget.

What do we expect in terms of planning assistance? Will they contact us? I know roughly what to expect from the lounge, but not the services.

I would not wait for the pre-planning staff to get in touch with you. This can be very iffy. There's a thread on this board for concierge information, but I'm not sure if details of the Wilderness Lodge are posted. Here is the link, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=679928 and here is the e-mail address for the WL IPO department, wdw.wlodge.itinerary.planning@disney.com. If you have an existing reservation, I would drop them an e-mail and ask that they send you out a pre-planning packet. This can include park maps, recreation guides, resort information and also a pre-planning questionnaire to get you started. Basically they will take care of anything and everything. All your priority seating arrangements, tours, cruises, spa treatments, entertainment tickets, airport transfers if necessary. When we stayed at the YC this past December, they helped me by purchasing a few gifts in the parks. I also sent down a small Christmas tree and other gifts directly to them. They had everything all set up in the room when we arrived. Pretty much, whatever you can think of, they'll assist you with.
