Hi guys,

I'm going to Disney World soon and trying to take the extra initiative, I want to be mindful of what I eat while on vacation. Do you guys have any tips to share of what you do while at Disney to stay healthy? Maybe food choices or substitutions you make to meals or anything. Thanks for any advice or tips! :goodvibes

There's a thread on the restaurants board about this.

I find the CS locations like Columbia Harbour House, Sunshine Seasons, and Tangierine Cafe have healthy options. All CS locations you have the oppurtunity to pick a healthy side instead of fries, and they usually all have at least one 'healthier' pick.

TS places like The Wave have really good, organic choices. Most TS locations will also have at least one healthier pick, or you could always ask to have something baked instead of fried.

For lunch you could have a salad, without all that fatty dressing on it... and at the restaurants they always give you more than you can eat, so dont eat all of it! Just eat enough so that you feel like you ate enough :] That's all I can really think of.

::yes:: I was actually just reading it before I posted this. I just thought that peers similar in age may have different tips.

Thanks for all the ideas so far. I'm thinking it'll help to decide some meals before leaving for vacation, that way I'll know what exactly I'm eating and what is in it.

Aren't you a vegetarian? Well Disney food places have everything you need. Like side dishes of grapes and healthier stuff. But at Disney you walk a lot so eating healthy really isnt necessary

You should try The Land. When I went in July, i noticed that they have way healthier food than the other restaurants around Disney World.

Yeah, that's Sunshine Seasons.

Sophie, the veggie burgers there are gardenburgers, which don't have many calories. So you could take half the bun off to cut more calories.

Yea, I am. When we made our ADRs, I specified to the cast member that I'm vegetarian and she told me that there was plenty to eat. This isn't my first time going to Disney as a veg but it is the first time I've mentioned it to a cast member. I've read a few TRs about eating vegetarian there so I've noted those foods.

And yes! Sunshine Seasons is so tastey. :goodvibes
