Staying BWV in June - received Reno Notice - are studios done?

Staying at the Boardwalk Villas in June in a STUDIO which I believe I read were completely done being refurbished. Is this true?

Not sure if the rehab is 100% done for studios - but I doubt it. They were doing it by section, not villa size. AFAIK, the scheduled completion is sometime in April, so the entire rehab should be done by the time you arrive in June.

thanks feel like I am going crazy. Had BCV booked but obviously the rehab on that was delayed but I thought I read that ALL STUDIOS (at least bw or preferred view) were completed in November). Guess I was wrong!!!

Request a completed room on your reservation and when you check in.

I am guessing your notice will arrive shortly. They are saying they are painting exterior of the building, etc. etc. So not sure if room refurb noise but from what I THOUGHT I READ all studios preferred view were done but now I am not so sure...

I am staying at BWV in a studio (garden/pool view) in late July, and I also received the renovations letter the other day. I thought they would be finished by late July, so I am hoping that will be the case. I will still be happy to be at the BWV regardless, but it would easier to swallow the price if I'm not affected by construction. Based on the letter, it didn't seem like the construction would be a big deal, but we once stayed at BCV in a studio overlooking the "quiet" pool and were awakened every morning by construction. There was a big crane set up right beside the pool that we got to look at every day. Only a minor thing, but one I could have done without.

So, here's hoping!

Not all studios or other room sizes are done yet, including because they are doing the refurb by area not room size. Internally what is still left to be finished are first to third floors in standard view, quiet pool view, and about half of Luna Park pool area, with third floor almost done. They are doing work (mainly cleaning and painting) on the outside where rooms are already completed internally, e.g., last week they were working on the outside of the rooms in the Village Green area (and had one of those big cranes sitting on the Village Green lawn) and were also stripping and repainting the tower area above the front entrance..

I would have to believe the rooms will all be done and that the work is outside, not inside? I have stays there in 3 weeks and again in mid-April but haven't received any letters for either. So perhaps the letters are also in error? They are supposed to be moving over to Inn rooms after finishing the villas.

I am staying at BWV pool/garden view studio in March. I called member services yesterday to add a renovated room to my request and was told all rooms are not done yet and they will add the request (which we all know is not guaranteed) but she said they are saving those rooms for a party of 5 for now. I am only a party of 3 so I will see what happens.

so what they are saying is a member with 5 guests is more important than a member with 2/3/4 guests. That's BS, if I got there and somehow found out they gave me an old room because I only had 2 people I would be peeved off. If they have a redone room open you should get it if your there first. We all pay good money for our pts and should be giving available rooms because we are members not because we have 5 guests.

I agree. They shouldn't allow bookings for 5 until all of the rooms are completed.

I'm staying early May and also received the letter this week. We have a standard studio. When we were there in Oct/Nov the standard studios were not even 1/2 done yet. I was hoping they would be done by my next trip.

What I mentioned above as to status is what existed as of last week. It is possible the BWV rooms themselves could be finished within a few months but that is not certain. However, renovations could continue well into the summer and possibly fall because they are not just doing the inside of the villas. it appears they are doing a complete refurb that will continue on to the BWI side and they are doing the outside. I suspect at least outside work on the BWV side could be continuing well into the summer and I also suspect they will be redoing the boards on the boardwalk itself since from appearance it is time for that to be done.

The reservation system allowed 5 in pool/garden studios even before the renovation, assuming because of the small "bench" in dedicated studios. I just checked and it still does. Standard and Boardwalk view say "The room size you selected cannot accommodate your party size" when I put in 2 adults and 3 children over 3.

I agree! I was not happy when I was told this because I am traveling with my 13yr old son and my 10yr old niece. I was counting on the pull down bed so we all have our own place to sleep. I will be checking in early so I will definitely insist on a renovated room.

Just because CM said it doesn't make it true. We stayed in Fall and had renovated room. Also a majority of rooms have been completed so this possibility of saving for 5 if true is diminished.

I think this is a red herring, with a low % of people staying with 5 in a studio.
