Hi, We will be staying in July and are wondering if they still do the flag ceremony or if there are any other special things to do? We have a dd turning 12 during trip and are looking for special things to do.

Last I heard, they still had the free walking tour, 9AM Wed. through Sat. You can also ask at the front desk for a list of hidden Mickeys to search for.

I would recommend taking the bus to Ft Wilderness and doing the Chip & Dale smores campfire or a pony ride.

Also, at Wilderness Lodge my kids always enjoyed seeing the geyser erupting every hour. My kids also enjoyed making tye dye Mickey shirts at WL with the rec. dept. - what a great souvenir as they still wear them

I hope they still have the Flag Family! We were a Flag Family once. It was fun. Also enjoy the Tour of The Lodge. During our last stay we happened by chance to attend the Walt’s Railroads talk in the Carolwood room of the Villas. For some reason it’s not advertised much. It’s only held once a month. We happened on it while we were walking on the path back to WL from doing the Segway tour, we ran into a CM who told us if we hurried we’d be in time for the talk. It was well done and interesting.
Renting Searsycers from the Marina is fun. We also enjoy taking the resort boat over to The Contemporary and check out their shops, and treats.

We have not stayed at WL in years, but we had the honor of being flag family on two different visits - I think Stan was our awesome flag family/WL guide on both occasions. I hope, for other families, they still have this tradition? Lovely views & great history of the resort. Photo ops galore! If they still do Flag Family, I’d say do it! :)

Ranger Stan was a wonderful CM. We always spent time chatting with him in the lobby or outside. And he was our guide for The Tour of The Lodge.

He was so sweet & genuine Now, I am curious ... Is the Flag Family still a tradition at WL.
