Staying at the WL in July....

We are taking my in-laws for their forty fifth wedding anniversary (six of us, 12, 16 , DH, myself, mother and father in law). We have reservations at the WL with a DC discount including UPH for four nights, two rooms, total $2636.00. Is this a good price for this resort? We have stayed at the BW and DXL and the all-stars, as well as CSR, but thought something close to the MK as well as something with such ambiance would be nice. Do you think mentioning their anniversary when we check in would be a good idea? They have never been to WDW and are so excited. We could have stayed at the Radisson Resort Parkway for $529.00 total, but I thought this would be so much nicer. What do you all think? Thanks!

You will love WL. I do think you have gotten a good rate.

I certainly would mention you in-laws anniversary. You may want to consider sending a fax in adavance with this info and any special requests that you have - possible upgrade of view, beds, etc.

I have never gotten flowers or gifts for an occasion but I have always gotten a great view when I have asked for one.

Here's a thought.....well, more of a suggestion:

What I would do if it were my inlaws is I'd fax or call the Concierge of the hotel and ask them how I'd go about having flowers or champaign in the room waiting for my family members. I'd make it known to them that I was willing to pay for this, I just need to know how to go about doing it.

This accomplishes many purposes:

1). Your relatives have the celebratory drinks or flowers from you, showing how excited you are spending this moment with them.

2). The resort is aware that a special celebration is going on and may feel free to upgrade or do something nice.

3). If the resort DOESN'T do something nice, (which they're under NO obligation to do, BTW) there's still something nice there from YOU.

Just an idea. I know you'll have a wonderful stay there. The WL is one of my FAVORITE resorts and it's SO romantic!
