I keep waiting for discount codes to come out for Easter but I am getting nervous that any chances of other discounts will disappear if I wait too long. Consequently, I took advantage of the teacher discount at the Swan. I will probably cancel this reservation if a good AP discount comes out for a deluxe during that time period, but in the event that it doesn't, will I be happy at the Swan? Is it a decent hotel?

The Swan is a great hotel. The location in the Boardwalk/Epcot/MGM area can't be beat. You will not be disappointed. I have stayed there twice and will be returning in April. I enjoyed walking on the Boardwalk in the morning and stopping by the Boardwalk Bakery. I also use the teacher discount and I think it's the best value in WDW. If you do stay there be sure to check out Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. IMHO it is one of the best lunch restaurants in WDW.

You will be more than happy! The Swan rooms have recently been refurbished. You will love the heavenly beds. The location is great. Food choices are abundant. Terrific pool area.

Relax! You are getting alot of hotel for the money. :)

You will love the Swan. We stayed there last month for the first time. We have gone every year since 1990 and stayed at "Disney Resorts". I too was nervous about whether it would measure up. Last year, we stayed at BWI and this was just as nice. (The beds were better!) The location can't be beat. Go for it!!

We stayed at the Dolphin & it was wonerful. If we can't get the rate we want at the BC we would consider staying at the Swan. Does the Swan have the $10.00 resort fee?

We stayed at the Swan in May 2002 because we got a great rate ($75 a night!) that we couldn't pass up, but it wasn't our first choice. Well, we were very nicely surprised. We stayed in room 235 and it smelled a little musty, but other than that it had a great view and the room was really nice.

I loved the pool area and the staff was very pleasant during our stay. The breakfast at the restaurant was yummy and reasonable, although you can also get a cup of coffee and a muffin for about $7 in the "cafe".

The Japanese restaurant was very very good if you like sushi, and we found the guest services to be helpful and accomodating.

Have a blast!

You will find people that don't like the Swan & Dolphin - don't feel it has the Disney feel, etc.

I don't know - I am about their #2 fan! (Dreamflight99 is #1!!!!) I can't say enough about the place. It is conveniently located between MGM & Epcot. The rooms were beautiful (and this was last July b4 remodel). The people were friendly. The food at Tubbis was great. The proximity to Boardwalk was fantastic - just a 5 min walk. I thought it was a dream world myself! It was easy out to get back to Interstate or Idrive etc to go elsewhere. Beautiful pool area. I may not have a Mickey Mouse soap or a wake-up call or room charging priviledges in the parks but as far as I'm concerned I got it all! I can live without all of that for the fantastic place I am staying at for the fantastic prices!

I love it there!!!! See my counter below? I'm goin back!

Thanks for the reassurance. It is definitely a good rate for Easter.

Dahess, yes there is the $10 resort fee. I understand that they used to waive that fee but this is no longer the policy. Apparently everyone must pay that on top of the rate.

Thanks again!

We just stayed at The Swan in January, using the nurse/teacher/govt employee code, as I am a nurse. Let me tell you, it is the best deal on WDW property. The Swan is a beautiful hotel, in a great location. Ask for a room with a Heavenly Bed. The rooms are big, nicely appointed, the transportation was good...boat or walk to MGM and Epcot, bus to MK and AK, walk across the street to Fantasia Gardens mini-golf. Nice pool area. Very good restaurant in The Swan called Palio. I cannot say a bad thing about the experience and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Yes, the resort fee is a 'per night' charge- as valet parking is if you decide to use it.
We stayed at the Wyndam Palace Resort at DTD, and they had a non-waivable resort fee before the Swan and Dolphin instituted their 'no waivable' policy at the beginning of this year.

I still feel that the hotels are a great deal though, and the location can't be beat!!

I hope that this helps..........
