My family of four and my older sister are going to stay at PC in early Sept. We have stayed on prop. before but this is my sis's first onsite stay and first time with free dining. We love VIP treatment and wanted to make it as special as staying at a deluxe resort, so I am making her a gift basket with bath fizzies, and specialty food items like they sometimes give the concierge guests. But, I really would like to add some other touches to make everyday of our trip magical. I got little gifts for my kids to open each morning, and disney themed paper products to eat with in our room.
I know that all of ya'll are genius vacation planners ... so I want to know what do you do to make staying at a value resort extra special?

:cheer2: :yay:

We love getting a lake view at POP. It is so nice to wake up and look out at the lake rather than a parking lot. We request the lake side of the 70's building.

Requesting a lake view is a nice idea. We had one in the 70s building and I really liked our room and view. It seemed quieter.

Also, when you check in, sometimes they can arrange a nice surprise. They asked my daughter who her favorite character was and the next day, balloons and an autographed photo of Ariel was waiting for us in our room.

I also like to buy the mickey chocolate coins that are bagged and available everwhere in the parks and leave them on my kids bed. I love being the last one out the door when we leave our room so I can arrange these little surprises for when we get back.

We really enjoyed Pop. You will have a great time!

If you leave a nice tip in your room for the cleaning person they will give you some extra little bits of Disney magic in your rooms!

We like to decorate our room window and door. We take along string of christmas tree lights (colored if xmas time or white for other times) and use suction cup hooks to put them in the window (you might also need an extension cord). We then add static clings on the window and viola - instant decorations. My DD's like to make posters or signs as well and hang those in the window or on the doors. The year we wnet for my DD's 3v3 soccer tournament, I made good lucks signs for the girls and put action shot pictures of them in the window - we got many compliments and loads of well wishes for the girls. You'd be amazed at how festive the room feels and many people stop to look at our decorations. I do however, take along windex wipes to clean the window before we leave. You can also add lights inside your room - we put them around the vanity/TV cabinet. Balloons also add a nice touch to the room.

Ditto for decorating the window area for all to see who pass by your room.:thumbsup2 .
If I ever stay at POP or an ALL STARS again, I'm definitely decorating!!!:)

I think after seeing all these posts about decorating rooms and also seeing those who decorated when I was at POP last year, I think I'm gonna have to go childish and do so too! :lmao: I'm 37 and act like I'm a fraction of that when I'm at the parks. :woohoo:
