I know this has been asked previously, but there were differing opinions...Has anyone been to DLR recently who can confirm that onsite hotel guests may/may not use the DCA entrance through the GC? Thanks so much- heading to DLR tomorrow! :cool1:

If you have a room key from any of the three Disney hotels, you may enter through the GC entrance first thing in the morning at opening.

Any other time of day, ANYONE can enter through here, as long as they have a ticket.

We stayed at PP last week, and one of the perks was entering DCA through GCH. You can enter 1 hour prior to park opening to get fastpasses for WoC, however the rest of the park isn't open. I believe (though can't confirm this) that Soarin' opens 1/2 hour before the rest of the park. Other than that, you are not allowed past the Little Mermaid ride or a Bugs Land prior to actual opening of the park.

I think Crazyduck is right that this isn't technically true. But I don't think it is enforced after the park is open to the general public.

Yes usually DCA opens at 10. Resort guests can go in at 9 to get WoC FPs, general guests at 9:30 to get WoC FPs, though I don't know if they have done this summer. At 9:30 Soarin and GRR open. At ten is rope drop to the rest of the park.

When we were there in June and July, the GCH entrance could be used by any DLR hotel guests and you had to show the room key. They were strictly enforcing the policy and I saw many people turned away that were not DLR hotel guests. This has also been a published perk for DLR guests only but was never enforced. They started to enforce it once WoC debuted. I have been told that if you buy something at the hotel, like at Whitewater Snacks (can be small) and show your receipt, that they will allow you in.

Check with PPH when you arrive to confirm, but they have been letting DLR hotel guests into DCA one hour prior to opening to get Fastpasses for WoC. And yes, Soarin' does open 30 minutes prior to the rest of the park.

Have a great time!

This is our first trip to DL, so sorry if this is a stupid question. Where does the GCH entrance for DCA go to? Does it go directly into the park, or does it go to the security/ticket entrance?

The entrance is directly into the park right next to Soarin and across from GGR.

It has it's own security and a a few turnstyles. As PP said it drops you right into the park.

Oh, this is good to know! I guess I didn't realize DLH guests could use the GC entrance into DCA. Silly question, where is the DCA entrance at the GC? We're staying at DLH in December, and I am not very familiar with the GC.
Thanks!

From DLH go though DTD and into the GHC after you pass Uva Bar, which is the bar with the wire martini glass structure in the middle of the mall. You will see a gap in the stores. Keep going back but not as far as the Registration Desk. Take a left and you will be going along side the large lobby area. Keep going strait you will see signs for the DCA entry. Outside you will also walk by the pool area on your right and behind Storytellers on your left. There ids a frorced right and then a left through the tunnel under this wing of the hotel. You can look into this tunnel and see the turnstyles on the other side.

From DLH, you would walk about halfway through DTD, turn right into the Grand's gates just before Sephora (across the walkway from Haagen Dasz), follow the path straight then right, go in the sliding glass doors. Turn left, walk walk walk, enter the lobby, turn left, go across the lobby, out the sliding glass doors, follow the path along until you see the entrance which should be to your left.

It puts you out near Grizzly.

This path ONLY makes sense in the early mornings when you want to get in and get your WOC FPs, or if you want to go into the park further that Grizzly. If, for instance, you just want to ride Monsters Inc, I cannot imagine that the path makes sense; probably best to just go all the way through DTD, through bag check (FYI the Grand's DCA entrance does its own bag check), and to the normal DCA entrance.

This is what they were doing in June when we were staying at GCH. No one was getting through without an onsite room key. I was wondering if they were doing it just for the WOC opening or if that has changed again. I remember in the past during some offsite stays we were able to use the gate:confused3

In my experience and from reading other's experience this has been relaxed since the beginning of summer. Outside of that first hour I think anyone can use this entrance.

A they still will not allow you back into DCA from GCH opening with out a room key, reciept that shows you have purchased food or a snack or at any place in the GCH hotel. you can however enter the GCH entrance from DCA.
