Will they store luggage until the room is ready or after check-out? Also, is the parking near the hotel? The only time I've gone to Universal we stayed off-site and just parked in the parking ramp. I don't think the hotel was even built yet........they were still working on them.

Stayed at Royal Pacific and Portofino, Both offered Service you are looking for, So I would gaurantee that Hard Rock offers it also. Parking is next to the Hotel to the North. Parking is same at parks which is six dollars per night. Enjoy and Have fun.

Early June we stayed at HRH. They held our luggage from about 8 a.m. til room was ready at 3:55. We were on our way back when they called and the luggage arrived just after we did.

We also had them hold the luggage when we checked out. Not a problem - and we had pillows, shopping bags, a couple large stuffed animals and a cooler plus the normal luggage

Have a great time!

Of coarse they'll hold your luggage before and after.
They'll do anything for you. They like to earn tips.
Everyone you pass in the hallways will say hello. I was carrying my bags to my car and a worker coming out of the main office asked if I wanted help. I declined and kept walking.
The parking lot is close to the hotel, but there is alot of walking.
Why? You walk from the lot, to the lobby, to an elevator, and then depending on where your room is, walk down a long hallway.
If you have a lot of luggage, you may want to pull up to the front and let them take it up and tip them.
Otherwise, it may take you two or three trips to get all your stuff to the room. It can be done on your own, but get ready to walk. Once you are settled in, everything is cool and the parks are right there.

agree that if you have a large amount of luggage better to pull up in front of HRH and have your luggage put on a cart.

But here is another tip. Most people want to park on the right/north side of the hotel. But, if you park there, you must walk up stairs (with no elevator alternative) and then walk along the outside of the hotel in the heat and humidity until you reach the lobby entrance. To avoid this you can still park there, walk up the stairs but walk in the door by the Palms Restarant- it will bring you in the lobby area, and air conditioning, sooner.

Better choice when checking in/out and carrying in your own luggage, is to park on the left/south side parking lot. You will wind up next to the elevator on the lower level by the pool. Only down side is if the door is locked. If this happens you can use this door later once you get your room key.

Oh, so is there 2 parking lots for HRH? I was debating about keeping our luggage in the car until we were given a room. (We're going early to check-in just to get FOTL privileges); then I thought when our room was ready we would just get our stuff from the car. Do they have carts that you can use yourself?

And if you do drive to the lobby and have them take and store your luggage, will someone bring it up to your room when it's ready, or do we call them when we get back, or how does that work? And then, I guess we would tip 2 times, right? And what is the usual tip for this? We'll probably have a lot of odds and ends (cooler, shopping bags, etc -- so that's why I thought it would be easier if we just did it ourselves.

You will find that employees at HRH try to be extremely helpful
Yes they will take your luggage to your room and willstore it if room is not ready (that happens frequently)

We transport luggage ourselfs but we don't bring much so its up to you. For us one or two trips will do it. If your room is close to elevator (remember there is only one elevator in the whole HRH) it should not be that bad. Its just that darn humidity. Takes a while to get used to.

Tipe: Actually these bellboys, waiters, and such make most of their income on tips so if you use their services, you should tip them.

found this (tips on tips for honeymoons) although I thought I remember it is $1 per piece of luggage.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tipping

Taxi Drivers: You should tip a taxi driver about 15% of the cab's fare. If he puts your luggage in the trunk, you should include $.25 for each piece of luggage.

Sky Caps: A sky cap is the person who takes your luggage from the curbside and brings it to the appropriate baggage cart. They prevent you from having to stand in the long line at the airport so you can check in your baggage. They should be tipped @ $2.00 for four pieces of luggage. If you have additional luggage, tip him $.50 for each piece.

Bellboys: You should tip a bellboy the same amount that you tip a sky cap.

Chambermaid: Your chambermaid should be tipped $2.00 per day.
