Hey There!

Boyfriend and I are staying at the Grand Floridian (sept. 1-8) on the Platinum Package and are currently staying in a Garden View Room. I'm wondering if upgrading our room (maybe to a concierge level) is really going to make our experience any more "magical?"

Thanks for any advice! :cheer2:

We are staying on the platinum package at CR in Oct and I opted to not upgrade to concierge. You are already getting the preplanning services that concierge level offers and plenty of food and snacks with the package - so unless you are planning to make a lot of dining or recreation changes while there, I'm not sure what the real benefit would be other than just a lounge to hang out in. I can't imagine being able to drink enough of the free wine/beer in the evening to make up the added cost of the room.

Now, just upgrading to a different view, that might be worth it, especially if you plan on spending some time in the room. We booked MK view in the CR tower b/c I know we will be watching fireworks a few nights and probably will get room service and enjoy that out on the balcony. I also love waking up and looking out the window at the train station and castle. Maybe a MK view room would be nice for you?

Whatever you decide, I hope you have a wonderful trip and please stop back and let us all know how you liked the Platinum Package (this is our first time using Plat instead of Premium).

Thanks so much for your quick response! This will be our first time staying at the GF and our first time on any type of package... so we are pretty excited!

Also, thanks for the tip... we will definitly try to see if we can get a better view!

Have fun on your trip too, I look forward to hearing about it!!!!

It is expensive to upgrade to concierge, but the main building concierge club is magical indeed. It would add to the experience, but may not be worth the extra $$$ for you.

OF course, I have never stayed concierge, but I like the advice of a MK view. That would be magical!

Happy planning.

I have stayed concierge with the Regular dining plan and found it to be way, way too much food, etc. With the Platinum plan it will be overkill in the dining dept. HOWEVER, the platinum plan is so extensive that it might be to your advantage to book concierge just for the intensive assistance you will get with ressies, etc. during your stay. The platinum plan includes all the recreation choices and they could help you mazimize that. But, pre-planning could do so as well. I have stayed at the RPC/GF with a castle view and it is priceless, I must admit. VERY romantic.
