We are renting from alamo and wondering if i let them valet park the car and they mess it up will it be covered? Technically they aren't listed as drivers for my car.:confused3

Do not have the exact answer to your question, but usually have a rental car, have used Valet many times (over many years) at several Disney resorts, including GF, and they have never harmed the car. :)

Don't know the answer to the question, but since this is pretty unlikely to happen, I would not worry about it.

wow, never thought of that before! We always valet our rental at GF. Even though we've never had any problems it is something to think about.

I know when we were staying at the Poly my mom asked the Valet parking are rental car about what would happen if they damaged the rental car, and he said Disney had plenty of insurance to cover it. I have no idea if that's the gospel truth or not, as they didn't damage the car.

If you end up paying extra for their insurance, then call and ask Alamo. If you are just going to use you existing car insurance to cover the insurance on the rental, then I would call and ask your insurance company.

i found out the anwser to my own question today. yes my insurance does cover the valet parking as long as i tell the insurance company right away if something happens. Yah i don't have to waste more money at the rental place on extra insurance. Thanks for all the replys people:thumbsup2

I'm can tell you that damage to the car by valets does happen. It happened to us. Not at WDW, but at a very well-known hotel in Hawaii. When the valet brought the rental van to us, it had a big dent that extended all the way along the driver's side of the van. It was clear that one of the valets had hit it against a post or something and just kept going! The problem that arises is that it is your word against the valet's. And, of course the valets are going to claim that the damage was there when the car was dropped off. Fortunately, we had taken the collision damage waiver, so we had no issues when we returned the van to the rental agency.

Since that time we've been very leary of valet parking. Also, I hate the thought of damage caused by a valet becoming a claim on my auto insurance policy, with possibilities for premium increases, surcharges, etc. And, Disney may have plenty of insurance to cover damage by their valets, but try proving the valets did it!
