Staying at GF for Christmas...is it magical?

We are spending our first Christmas and our 10 year Anniversary at WDW. We are DVC members and are staying to the BCV for 7 nights and we are thinking about adding the 23-27 at the Grand Floridian (do not have enough points to stay any longer at BCV).

For those of you who have stayed the week of Christmas...is it worth the extra money to stay at the GF? I know there is no AP rates during this time but can you get a AAA rate? I am just thinking about splurging since we are celebrating the holidays and our Anniversary.

Also- I guess I chose the GF because it seems like it would have that magical (and a romantic...if you can have that with two kids) feel during the holidays!

Any advice or opinions would be great!

We stayed at the GF for Christmas in 2006. We stayed in the Main Building and loved every minute of it. It was worth the splurge for us. It really got us in the Christmas spirit.

In one word - YES!!!!

I am a huge GF fan any time of year, but it has that little something "extra" at the holidays.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, here are a few thousand from our trip last December:

I had wanted DH to take more, but we got so caught up in our time there, that these were taken early our last day. However, we'll be back this December, and I'm taking the camera out then.

We're DVC, too, and love spending those weekends at the GF!
