Staying at BC but car rental at DTD?

Hi - I just booked a car rental from Dollar located at the Wyndham near DTD. We are taking the Magical Express from the airport and are staying at the Beach Club. Can we take ME to a resort near DTD (guessing ME doesn't actually go to DTD right?) and then go and get our car right away? Or, should we just drop off at the Beach Club and go to DTD (although I have read it takes forever to do that...)?

ME will only take you to the hotel you are staying at. From there just take the regular WDW bus to DTD and walk over to the rental car place. You could also call the rental office and see if they have a shuttle that will pick you up. Several of them do.

Have you checked rental car prices with National or Alamo at the Dolphin (open from 8-4) or the Car Care Center?

I second this, it is incredibly convenient to pick up/drop off at the Dolphin, plus in my experience they have incredible customer service.
