I'm so excited as we get to stay at AKL as a special treat thanks to a friend who is a DVC owner. :goodvibes
We'll be staying 1 night in a studio at Kidani and then changing to a 1 bdr at Jambo as there weren't 3 nights available at Jambo. We've never stayed onsite before and are so excited. Can anyone give my any pointers or tips I should know about for our stay. Also would we be better off driving our rental car to the parks, MK and AK only, or taking the busses? Ours kids will be 10, 6 and almost 2 when we go at the end of may before our 1st Disney cruise.

Let's see. For MK, I would take the bus since when you drive you have to go to the TTC and then take either the monorail or the ferry.

Otherwise, I would spend some time enjoying the resort including the pool and especially seeing all of the animals.

We're planning to just hang at the resort the day we fly in and then go to MK and AK the next 2 days.Of course our plans could change if I can't pull my kiddos away from the resort-lol!

Wow, thats some friend :lmao:

Cute kids...We stayed at AKV for the first time last month and loved it. In the main building there is Mara, a great place for breakfast or snacks. We didn't eat dinner there, so I don't know what they serve then. The breakfast buffet at Boma was excellent. Are you getting the dining plan?

The resort is gorgeous! Enjoy the pool, it was freezing when we were there, so we didn't get to use it, but there were CMs around the pool area doing crafts with kids, so yours might enjoy that. We drove everywhere from there, even to AK, but that is practically next door, so you really don't have to. I just hate taking the bus to MK from BWV with all the stops, etc., but I don't know if the AK bus stops anywhere else or not, maybe Blizzard Beach. Someone should know.

The resort is just outstanding!

I heard that AKL bus does not share or stop anywhere else.
