Staying at AKL DVC studio Club level??

If I want to stay at club level in a studio at AKL, where is the laundry room? We are thinking of a long stay at CL and don't want to have to pack too much. Thanks for your help.

First you will have to get it. There are only five two bedroom lockoffs on the sixth floor. The free laundry for members is on the fifth floor. I hope you own at AKV and have the number dialed exactly at 11 months out right at 9AM EST/EDT. And you may want to walk that reservation.

It depends on when you are planning to go. We had 10 nights in a CL studio in '09 and we have 15 nights this year. I didn't walk the reservations.

What is walking? How do you do it?

At 11 months and a week or so, you start booking a reservation for exactly 11 months out. You call the next day and drop the first and add the last day. You keep doing this until you have all the days you need. Since someone who arrives six days before you can lock you out of your villa because they can book the first day you need and you can't, you need to do this to compete. And MS currently allows members to do this. It isn't cheating. It's just wise planning for a hard to get reservation.

In the old days, when you booked your trip by the check out day of your trip, members would book day by day and just keep adding a day. So it was like they had a one night trip for the first day they needed to book.

So if you want to arrive on Dec 8, you start booking your trip for Dec 2 - you book Dec 2 -8 (departing Dec 9). The next day you add Dec 9 and drop Dec 2.

I called at exactly 11 months out at exactly 9am and got the last AKV CL studio for the week after Thanksgiving into a few days in December. I didn't walk the reservation and was able to get it. I know it was explained above by Deb & Bill, but no matter how many times I've read how to do it, it still confuses me lol. I'm just letting you know it is possible to get it without walking it lol. Yes, and I'm one of "those members" who REALLY resents the whole walking thing and suggestions that people do it. If we all just try and book what we want, then we won't trample and screw over other members. Rant over. Oh...and OP, I hope you get what you want! But as long as others can start booking six days before you can even book your stay, you will be at their mercy. If they book up all five two bedroom lockoffs before you even get to call for the first day, you are out of luck.
