For those of you who have stayed at resorts during works~

Would you do it again?
How was your experience?

Following on~
Would you consider booking csr for next year?

I've stayed while they were part way through room refurbs (in an unrefurbed room). No issues. Didn't even know anything was going on. I'm booked for a week at CBR in early September while the major refurb is in progress and have no concerns about it at all.

WE had a difficult time coping with noise at the YC during minor work/construction on one visit. We like to spend time during the day at our resort, so the (very loud) noise made our time uncomfortable. After waking to someone working on our balcony while we were still in bed asleep (with the patio doors open), we requested to be moved. It was a huge relief to be at the BC instead!

Our subsequent decision has been to NOT stay at a resort with construction again. However, I understand that many people are less bothered by it than we are. Many people are up earlier in the morning than we are and do not return to the resort during the day. For them, they would hardly be impacted by the construction at all. SO touring style as well as what you expect from your resort all come into play - along with a healthy dose of luck! If your room is located far from the construction in a large resort, then you may not even see it!

No, we won't be booking CSR or CBR for the next year. We do have POR and POFQ booked for future trips, however. :)

I've stayed while there were room renovations going on and they didn't impact me. I would've been extremely upset if they were on my balcony though!

I was tempted to stay at CBR when they offering the gift card but ultimately decided that CBR is just too large a resort.

Stayed at WL in March 2016 during a major refurb of an entire wing of the lodge, including earthmoving below our balcony. Never heard a peep. The pageant on the lake each night was noisier. We came back for my child's midday naps, and even then never heard noise. Very well managed by Disney. Plus, the special "pardon our pixie dust" pins we got in our room of Mickey and Pluto in hard hats were a nice touch.

We stayed at POFQ during the refurbishment a few years ago and last year during the foodcourt redo. The room refurbishment had no real impact. It was going on in one of the 7 buildings so all we saw was dumpsters in a parking lot and construction workers in the area. It had no effect on our stay. The foodcourt redo was also not a big deal but we usually only have breakfast at the resort. With POR being a 10 minute or so walk away & we did grab breakfast there 2 days.

We just got back from 4 nights at Coronado. There were scrims up along some of the walkways. During the day you could see construction workers around but they were not making too much noise. Although we were back in Ranchos and they seemed to be closer to Cabanas so maybe distance was a factor. We didn't mind but we spent most of the day in the parks. I would stay there again.

We are booked for CBR in the fall. I am thinking about switching after hearing about the makeshift dining area and lack of seating. That may be too much for me.

I stayed at the BC while Hurricane Hannahs was down. That experience taught me that we are not good with disruption, so I would not knowingly choose a resort under refurb.

I think that you need to know if you can temper your expectations if you choose a resort that is undergoing construction.

We stayed at WL during construction. With literally half the resort closed, the buses were amazing, never anywhere near full, and the food court was always nice and quiet as was the pool, it was also always easy to find a parking space.

I would stay at a resort that was refurbishing their rooms, but I would not stay if construction was going on in common places and pools were closed or counter service locations were relocated.

If it is just ONE thing being refurbed-rooms OR restaurant OR food court OR Pool Bar,etc. I would not give it a second thought.

However in a situation like CBR where ALL that going on at the SAME time,I wouldn't have stayed there without the $75.00 Gift card.:)

Is there a way to know in advance what stage the construction will be at/how intrusive the works will be?

From the stories shared-i think a few rooms undergoing refurb is probably my limit..
I didn't like being disturbed my housekeeping one morning when the sign had mysteriously disappeared from the door...work on my balcony Would have freaked me out !!
