And there currently any Benifits to staying at one of the Disney hotels? has early entree returned?

I have not done much reading on Genie plus- will there be any advantage with it and “being on site”?

I dream of staying at DLH someday and we are eyeing a fall 2022 trip.

the price tho.. it kills me.

No early mornings right now, so I guess you could say there is no added benefit..but we stay at GCH and won’t even book a trip if we can’t stay there. The location and entrance to DCA is a benefit I suppose, but we just love it and won’t stay anywhere else ever again. We’ve done PPH and off site but didn’t like it.

Depending on how you define it, the primary benefit to staying onsite is “The Bubble”. Whether that’s worth the cost difference vs. staying off site is up to you.

For myself and my family, the cost of staying on site doesn’t equal any value to us. On our trips, we don’t spend any time at a hotel outside of sleeping. As long as it’s safe and comfortable, I am satisfied.

We just booked on-site for June 2022. I'm hopeful early entry will return by then in some form, but if not, ces't la vie. We're staying at DLH for proximity and pools. I know there are other off-site hotels with nice pools, but at a farther distance and my 7-year-old's legs are only going to take so much back-and-forth. The ambiance and "bubble effect" are side benefits.

That said, this is a Splurge-With-A-Capital-S, partly to emotionally compensate us for the fact that this trip has been postponed 2 1/2 years now (we were supposed to arrive March 30, 2020), and as a reward for hanging together as a family through some *very* turbulent waters during that time. So, YMMV but it's worth it to us -- this time.

What was the issue with the PP hotel? We are staying there in October, last one of the Disneyland hotels we haven't stayed at.

While researching hotels for our trip next summer, I noticed the pool at PP is tiny! I was really surprised by that. Decided we'll try a night at DLH, the move over to Grand Californian for the remainder of the trip. So far, we have only stayed at the Grand Californian out of the 3.

No issues, I guess. It’s just far (at one time it wasn’t even a Disney property) and doesn’t have the magic that DHL and GCH have.

Has housekeeping returned to GCH? We are planning to stay there in November, but if there is no EMH and no housekeeping, really can't see a reason to pay that much.

We did a split stay when Galaxy's edge opened in 2019 and it was great. 3 nights at DLH and then 3 nights at the Hyatt House. If I had to do it over I'd go to DLH second, though, because it was hard leaving the Disney bubble half way through.

good point. this is our plan for 2022.

We stayed at the GCH last week and we got housekeeping every other day. The notice on the TV said they'd do trash/towels every other day, and vacuum as needed, but they also made the beds and freshened the room. We were happy with the service.

We definitely did miss the early entry, and we hope it is back by the next time we visit, but we were still very happy to be at the GCH. We love the ambiance, the rooms, the pool, and the proximity to the parks. It's our favorite place to stay!

Have to believe early entry won't be in place by the time we arrive for our twice-postponed DLH stay, now set for November 2022. And I think that's going to happen precisely because of what people here have mentioned: Without it, it's almost impossible to justify the high cost of staying on-property.
As soon as Disney can staff the longer hours, I think EMH will return in some form.

:( :( We are planning for early November and I'm so bummed about this!

Every other day isn't bad, I could deal with that! And I agree, we LOVE GCH, it's beautiful and its proximity can't be beat! We will miss EMH but I think we'll end up staying there anyway.

Sorry, was it reported somewhere that EMM won't return this year? Every cast member I've spoken to of late (which is A LOT, we've made lots of adjustments to our upcoming trip after members of our party had to cancel) says it's returning "soon" or "when more staff is onboarded."

Guests on site can access the virtual ques and Genie Plus at 7am and off site guests have to wait for park opening, is my understanding for WDW so I would think that DLR would be the same probably.
