Stayed @ Poly- Next resort stay is ?

First year w/ family we stayed at the Poly. Great resort but like to change it around. I visited friends staying Port Orleans and loved everything,pools,landscaping,rest,etc. I thought that the Swan or
Dolphin looked like my next choice but now WL and all the benefits of being near MK. We have 2 daughters ( 6&9) and are going in Nov. What's resort should I try this time ?

If you spend most of your time in MK, then WL, hands down. It's the least expensive of the deluxe hotels and the location can't be beat. It's also absolutely beautiful.

I personally love the AKL, but some people do not like that it's far removed from all the action. I don't care much about location, and our experience there was wonderful. I haven't stayed at the other deluxes, so I can't give you my opinions on them; but there are many experts here.

The only moderate I've stayed at was CBR, and it was a little run down... but that was before they renovated it so I'm not sure how it rates now. We are staying at POFQ in Sept. We recently stayed at the Pop and my DD7 loved it! We really enjoyed our stay there, even though it was a value and we had previously stayed at deluxe concierge. I think it still ranks as her favorite, go figure!

The first thing I thought of in answer to your question was, "The Poly, of course!", but then I read on and saw that you like to mix it up!!
WL is a beautiful and kid friendly resort. We stayed there when our DS was 3 and he loved it. The pool is great, the location is wonderful, especially if you're going to be spending a lot of time in MK. It is a lovely and laid back resort, you can't go wrong there.

Since you like the benefits of being near MK- maybe the CR or GF. Very different resorts but both are nice and you have the convenience of the monorail. I like the Poly but 6yr old (and DH) love the Contemporary.

With a 6 & 9 yr old - they may enjoy Chef Mickey and the arcade at the CR. The pool is not the best but the kids seem to enjoy the slide.

Don't dismiss the Swan/Dolphin too quickly. We've stayed in each and loved it, even though we have young children and spend a lot of time at MK. My nieces, ages 6, 9 and 12, also loved staying there. When we stayed at the Swan last month, bus service to MK was excellent. We never waited for more than 5 minutes for a bus to MK and 3 out 4 times the bus went directly to MK after it picked up at the Dolphin. We love the location of the S/D for MGM and Epcot, and they have some great rates. It's also nice to be right next to the Boardwalk when the parks close early.

Have you been to the WL? We ate at Whispering Canyon, which was great, but I don't think I want to stay there. The lodge atmosphere just didn't do it for me if I'm going to stay Deluxe.

If you have any specific questions or concerns about the Swan/Dolphin, post them. There's lots of people who can answer them for you.

Thanks everyone. I am a teacher and was thinking of using the special rate to go to the Swan or Dolphin but Nov. is a busy time for conventions and felt that is might be too busy for my little ones. I have a gut feeling it's going to be Wilderness Lodge! Any info on room location or deals ? Thanks.

Wilderness Lodge! It is a beautiful Resort with close proximity to MK as well as terrific restaurants! My girls call it "Pocahontas' Home"! Having stayed at both WL and POR, I MUCH prefer WL!
