Has anyone stayed at the newer staybridge suites? I’m mostly curious about the walk, if it’s just really far. We have usually stayed on the other side near the convention center but I’m intrigued to maybe give this hotel a try. Would love any reviews/opinions if we should try to get something closer. We have four kids 7 and under so proximity is good, although we are more the nap as we walk through the park sort of people so going back for naps isn’t something we do haha. we also like having a separate bedroom to split everyone up at bedtime. We’ve stayed at the residence inn in the past and loved it but the prices the week we are going are too High.

I could be wrong but I thought I read a review not that long ago that it’s not very safe. I recall people having cars broken into, etc. I may be recalling the wrong staybridge though.

Have you looked at the springhill suites?

Oh yikes! I keep seeing springhill suites pop up in my searches but haven’t looked into them much!

I've stayed at the Springhill on Ball and it was wonderful. It had just opened that year so it was a new hotel, but I really like the layout of the rooms and I can only imagine the one on Katella and Harbor is just as good (plus, it's got the CVS on the bottom floor; super convenient). Marriott and Marriott owned properties almost always live up to their name, at least the ones I've stayed in and I've stayed in SpringHill, Residence Inn, Courtyard down there multiple times. I personally have never felt unsafe and I think my car was pretty safe, too. If you're worried about that and the hotel doesn't have some sort of underground parking, the smart thing to do (really with anywhere you go) would be to take out everything valuable and bring it into the hotel. If you can't take everything out, lock it up in the trunk so that the interior is clean, even of trash. Either way, I think the SpringHill is worth it.

I love Springhill Suites. We stayed at the Katella one last trip, and our next trip. We also stayed at a Springhill when we went to WDW lat Feb. The price was wonerful, the employees great and a nice pool and free breakfast.
