Staybridge or Homewood Suites?

We're going to Disney at the end of September. It'll be my husband, myself, our two children (3 and 1) and the grandparents (2 of them); so 6 people total - 4 adults, one preschooler and one toddler. We're looking into suites or at least 2 adjoining rooms with a fridge. Has anyone stayed at the Staybridge Suites or Homewood Suites? They both sound like we'd have to rely on ART, which is fine. But are they in ok areas? Is one better than the other?

We are on a budget and want something reasonable, any other suggestions are welcome. The pull towards staybridge is that we could get a 2 bedroom suite for only 200 more total than a 1 bedroom at homewood.

Thanks for any advice!

I have stayed at the Staybridge suites many time with six to eight [people>
I love them, they are roomy and cheap.
Get a two bedroom and the the kids can sleep on the pull out couch in the
living room They serve a nice breakfast as well.

I've stayed twice at Homewood Suites and liked it. You get a nice kitchen (full size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stove), living room w/pullout, separate bedroom, work desk, free internet, free breakfast, dinner appetizers M-Th.

HAve you looked into the Desert Inn and Suites or the suites at the Park Vue Inn? The suites at Park Vue actually have a kitchen, I believe. Those are also pretty cheap and you'd be right across the street from the parks which is really a plus with little kids.

Yes. They both got bad reviews from a lot of people. Since we'll be spending some downtime at the hotels (most of the day Sunday) when we'll be there I want a hotel that is comfortable for relaxing and such too.

We stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites on our last trip and thought it was great, very clean and had no issues with service or anything. Did you read these bad reviews on trip advisor? I think most people on this board who have stayed there have nothing but positive things to say about it. The only draw back in my mind is that they don't have the full cook to order breakfast, but I think the benefits outweight the negatives.

I would really reconsider staying somewhere that is not within walking distance. 2 little ones on ART with stroller is a PITA, really it is. We won't do it again.

Just my $.02

I start my stay at Homewood Suites tomorrow. It was recommended by several of my friends each of which had no problem with the ART and small children. But...I've also read some reports that said the ART is only somewhat reliable. Desert Inn was fine for us during the winter but we prefer an outdoor pool over the summer - we spend 2-3 hours a day swimming. Sorry, nothing on Staybridge.
