snow and lots of freezing rain coming to Southern Ontario mid day today - school busses here have been cancelled much to my boys delight - even though only one of them is bussed I had promised the younger one he could have a snow day too next time his brother stayed home! Looks decieving out there right now - I had the dog out and it's actually not too bad right now. The calm before the storm perhaps??

Going to stay in and snuggle under the blankies and we'll read more of Peter and the Shadow Thieves (great book!!) and might even watch a movie!!

It isn't bad here either, it kind of looks like the calm before the storm. They are saying about how bad it is going to be, but I can't help but wonder whether they will be right or wrong.....who knows! They always prep us for the worst and then it ends up not being too bad.

Not bad yet.School buses in the county are closed but buses in the city are still running. I guess it will hit us first since I'm from Windsor.

I wonder how many people will be going to work since tomorrow is a Friday. :goodvibes I know if I could take a snow day, I would!

Yeah, I noticed that too. I think it all depends on where you live, where you have to go and what time you end up leaving. I use to work a job where my hours were 12-8pm. The snow never bothered me because I'd always travel after the roads were plowed and during non-rush hour. This year, I work 9-5 hours in downtown Toronto and I have to take the TTC. It's a much bigger difference :cold: :guilty:

i am in london and the snow started just after i got my dd off to school, now its just yucky out there and i have to get ready for work

Within the last 10 minutes the visibility out of our 9th floor condo has gone from ok, to nasty. I cant even see across the street. Of course good old Oakville with also get lake effect on top of this which means, we probably will get more. And to top it all off the GO trains are having problems too. DH may just be staying in TO

Go trains are having troubles b/c a freight train de-railed in Pickering - looks like a nasty mess but they said no one was hurt.

I was watching the weather on the news at noon and commented to my ds that the flurries were just starting - there were just a few and hard to see. Went about making lunch and not even 5 mins later when I looked out again I couldn't see across the field b/c of the snow.

Days like this make me glad I work at home - stay safe everyone!!

I just turned around, looked out the window and saw tons of snow blowing around. It's crazy! Normally I can see the lake and the islands but I can barely see the next office building.

Safe travels home everyone.

What a mess! It's supposed to warm up as the day and evening go on. Freezing rain and then rain.

We'll see!

Ugh! I got home about 1/2 hr ago after leaving downtown Toronto at about 4pm. That's the last time I'll take a bus that goes on Eglinton Ave. in a snowstorm. People were walking faster than us :(

Dreaming.........of getting home safely this morning.......:wizard:

Gotta love the "winter" weather we get in S.ONT.!!!

Yes but for once they warned us and were actually right

Stay safe again today everyone!!

Busses cancelled here again and there's no way I'm walking my younger one to school with all the ice when I have to go through the maniacs in the parking lot that drive to drop their kids off :scared:

Off to try and dig out my driveway - I think I ended up with 75% of the snow and managed to stop it from blowing onto the empty lots around me

I think that same system is headed my way for the weekend. Oh well, as long as there are snacks and the dis, we can enjoy the snowy weekend planning our trip--only 52 days to go!!:goodvibes

A drive that normally takes 45 minutes took me 2 ½ hours on Thursday night. The drive today was better.
