On Friday, we were at IOA having a great day when my daughter's boyfriend had a seizure. My friend in college was epileptic and this seizure looked a lot like that-very serious. Luckily, some people were close to him and prevented his head hitting the cement. EMS arrived and he was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Tests were run, including CT scans, blood work, etc. and no cause could be found. He was kept overnight. The ER doctor said that dehydration could have caused it.
I posted this on the IOA/Uni thread too because it was scary as heck and I had no idea that dehydration could cause seizures. Be safe and drink lots of water.

Thanks, he's doing fine now. I just wanted to let others know to drink lots of water. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else.

Wow....That is awful to have happen. Sorry to hear he had that experience.

We always take our Camel Back bottle to the parks with us, even in the "non hot" months just to make sure we are always drinking water. This was by far one of the best investments we made for going to the parks. It holds a good amount of water and refilling it throughout the day sure beats dropping $20 a day on bottled water.

Glad to hear he is doing fine now.

Dont be afraid to ask counter service restaurants for water. I got dehydrated and overheated in August. Drank 2 bottles of water, finally felt better after a popsicle (they no longer sell it but they do the strawberry fruit one. Guess it cooled me from inside out. OP I'm glad hes doing better, must've been so scary for everyone.

Glad to hear that this was just a scare rather than something more serious.

I feel like a pack mule with the chilled/frozen bottles we carry to the parks We also top up throughout the day by drinking water at meal times and asking for water at counter service places.
