stay connected bug

For the past month or so I have noticed I stay connected for like EVER LOL.

When I disconnect my character is right where I left off, and of course I have a bunch of messages and everyone thinks I am ignoring them LOL.

I have been going to my AFK room before I quite now so at least people know I am not paying attention LOL.

I quit the game correctly, dont just shut down. I do use VMK pal.

Has everyone else been having this problem? Today I logged my girl character in to get the pin, and then logged out, logged in and I passed her LOL.

I am curious how many other people have noticed this happening lately. Guess I should report it via contact us as well.

I noticed that happened with LasagnaChef when he used the "Exit" button this morning. I usually just X out and I've never had a problem with that.

Hey aengus. I also have this issue. My sister will call me 5 minutes after I logged off and say, "I thought you were logging off....well, you are still in my room and I am taking to you!"

I usually use VMK Pal, but it's happened with both VMK Pal and the regular browser.

I noticed that it happens sometimes with my husband. He logs off and still stays in the room for more than five minutes. We don't use VMK Pal.

Happens to me all the time -- never used vmk pal. Before I sign off I usually click on a popular room and then click cancel, so it at least shows that I'm not in any room.

Same thing has been happening to me. I've also begun entering a locked room before logging off. Makes no difference whether I use the 'x' or the close window. I use IE, not VMKPal. The only way I will actually disappear from vmk is if I close my browser completely.

Today I was on the regular browser- not VMK pal- and my family hung around for a while... I logged off using the exit game button- and logged in on my kids- both of my kids characters got to visit ME- and I was no longer on the game...

You still get friend requests too- and I saw someone asking me to please trade with them lol

This used to happen a lot a year or so ago- I've only just recently noticed it happening again.

And yes it has happened in VMK PAL too- but today I was using the homesite and no pal

Weird. I use VMK Pal. Today I was logging in my characters to get the pin and decided to pay close attention to how long they "linger" after I log them out. I don't use the "exit" button; I just clicked X to close the screen completely, and each one of my characters disappeared in less than a minute.

This happens to me EVERY time I log off. For safety purposes, ie being in a room and something happens to get you banned, I always go to to one of my rooms that I only allow myself in and log out from there....

This has been an issue for me for a long time. I happen to use Pal but I don't think it matters what is used.

As I quest with many of my "team", I do need to trade off the prizes to Duck. I have found that while Duck will sit in one window, and bring clones on in another window.. her room will "fill up" with clones!

When I log one out of VMK, but instead of closing Pal, use it to log in the next.. they just take up residence in my room until I finally formally close out that Pal window.

About 7 seconds after closing that second window, I get to watch (in Duck's window) this wild race of clones trying to beat each other out of VMK!

Yes, I've had my fun with this bug. I used to go up to your logged-off character and talk to it. I told it, "If you're giving me an inferno, don't talk."

Needless to say, Aengus, you owe me 3 infernos.

Yes, I do the same thing as you. It's a shame we are scared to stay anywhere that we may get banned. I have become so paranoid that it takes away something from the game.
We do what we have to do !!

Same here. I have to close out the VMK home page completely, or I am standing as a "ghost" for 20 minutes. I'm always afraid I will get banned for something that goes on in a room, and I wasn't even on.

It been happening to me today! All my other characters passed my main one and it said my main character was still on and I know I just logged out!

I don't use VMK Pal. But I had noticed if I log in clones in other IE windows,
they will all linger in VMK, regardless of being in a room or "not in any room".

I usually trade in one of my rooms, then boot them out so they can be
stuck in "not in any room" limbo. I also do the popular guest room choice
and click "cancel" to get myself into "not in any room" status.

I haven't found out if my avatar lingers without the clone thing or not.

I guess I don't get it. If this is happening because you don't close out your window completely (instead you're just logging off), then why don't you just click the page off competely each time and log in another character with a fresh page... No more lingering mules... beats having to "hide" in a room somewhere because you're afraid of being banned.
