Do NOT go there. Avoid it like the plague.

And leave all the room for me. :goodvibes

Just got back. Unbelievable resort. Idyllic. Spotless. Beautifully decorated. All CM's were incredibly knowledgeable and amazingly enthusiastic about the resort. Surprisingly closer to the main lodge than I expected. Had a good time hanging upside down at the Territory Lounge after a few margaritas to find the hidden Mickey in the map on the ceiling. Both the WL and VWL were completely full and you would NEVER know it. CM Skip is great. Villa very spacious and well-stocked. Let me stress spacious.

After a 1st night at Pop and last two nights at the Swan, I will NEVER, EVER, EVER stay ANYWHERE but a villa again. That goes for outside WDW as well. It was so nice having a living room to relax in once the kids were in bed. And the walk-in closet is a great place to put the pack n play. DS loves dark rooms for sleeping, so he was happy as a clam in there with the door cracked open a foot.

It was a perfect place for a family and just so beautiful with the Christmas decorations.

Oh and uh, don't take the bus to MK. WAY too crowded. Trust me. Stick to the boat. Much faster than the bus anyway. ;)

What is vwl?

Villas at the Wilderness Lodge.

And I'll stay away from VWL if you promise to stay away from BWV.

You have that promise until my kids get a little older. After that, we may have to give BWV a try.

VWL = Villas at the Wilderness Lodge (but don't tell Shel I told you). As Shel said, it's an awful place to visit. I'm sure you wouldn't be interested in the theming, the restaurants, the geyser, the bike/boat rentals, the two pools, and the relative calm that VWL accords. And the fact there is a boat and bus that go directly to MK shouldn't figure in anyone's decision, either. In fact, I'd forget all about trying VWL altogether. . .:paw:

I'm really glad that you enjoyed your stay there. I won't stay there next until October 2006, but I'm going to stop by and look around a bit when I visit WDW in February.

Just how "awful" are the two bedroom villas? LOL We are coming down next December and it will be two couples - me and DH and DS and his wife. We would like to have separate bedrooms, of course, but would like to share some space like the living room, kitchen, etc. This type of arrangement has worked out well for us in the past. Do both bedrooms have a queen size bed? I would want the 2nd bedroom to be nice.

You're just going to have to fight me for that 2 bedroom villa I have booked for October 2006. Sorry - after your words of praise, I won't be giving that baby back to inventory. NO WAY!

Oh, and thanks a lot for making the wait THAT MUCH HARDER!!!

Yep, we'll stay away.

For one whole week that is. :rotfl:

Leaving for VWL in one week. Packed and shipped two boxes of Christmas stuff for the trip.

I think I've cracked. Can't believe I sent all that stuff. I guess I'm so absolutely nuts about the VWL at Christmas. :rotfl2:

Sorry, you won't be able to have a queen bed in the second bedroom - how about TWO queens, or a queen and a pull-out sofa instead?? :rotfl:

And you'll have to make do in the master - no pull-out sofa OR queen bed in there -Just one KING SIZE BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VWL 2 BR - the best!!!!!!!!

ROFLMAO!

I thought we were the only ones to stick the baby in the closet in the pack n play. He thought the walk-in was a fabulous bedroom.

Oh, how awful - a king in one bedroom and one or two queens in the other. How will we ever make do? LOL :rotfl:

Really, it's completely miserable. I was completely disgusted at how Christmassy it was, so warm and cozy when it was cold outside. And the people putting up Christmas lights on their balconies...could it get more dreary?

And I'm just hysterical about putting the baby in the closet. Something felt mildly wrong about it, but he thought it was the best place he ever slept.

I am going to stay at VWL next year (Nov.) for the first time. Has anyone stayed in a studio there? Are they bigger than the hotel rooms at WL? (Of course, that won't tell me much b/c I've never stayed there, either.) I know they are probably "terrible" also, but if someone can tell me just how horrible a studio is, I promise only to go there the one time.

Glad you had a great trip! We'll be at VWL in May, and I can't wait - we had such a great time there last year!

Sorry you were so miserable... ;)

Sounds wonderful to me, I have now put this on my official must do list. :cool1:

VWL is my home resort and I am staying there for 14 days in March... I can't wait.

Thanks for the report!

They are terrible, just depressing as can be. Not only do you have to suffer with a king in the master BR and the one or two queens in the second BR, but you must also face the indignity of a jacuzzi tub in the master bath with a separate shower; a washer/dryer; a full kitchen (including untensils, dishes, mixing bowls, pans, etc.); a TV in the MBR, guest room, and living area; spacious dining area; balcony; and separate bathroom w/tub & shower for the guest room. As you can see, the accomodations are horrible. Add that to the fact that VWL is so ugly and loud and unappealing, you just might want to rethink your plans. And don't even consider going to Artist Point--they only serve things like salmon, buffalo, filet, and other unappetizing entrees with a wine list that makes it too hard to make up your mind. Avoid them, too. I sure hope I've convinced you how drab VWL is. :paw:

so tell us - how were the crowds? after all those polls, inquiring minds want to know!

we'll be in that run down dump of a resort on Saturday. i'm sure we'll be as miserable as you were :rotfl2:
