My family stayed at the Poly Tokelau in Feb of 05 and we are returning in late Jan of 06. I am attracted to the Port Orleans Riverside but we truely loved the Poly last year. One daughter especially loved the beach area of the poly. I am really struggeling wiht the issue of "is it really worth the $1200 more for the delux resort"? We have 3 children so are limited to resorts fitting in one room. Thanks for your feedbac.

I can sympathize with your situation ... it is always hard to decide if the extra $$ is worth it ...

I would say that if you spend a lot of time at your resort, then staying deluxe is worth the extra money. If you are the type that thinks of it only as a place to sleep, then save the cash and enjoy a moderate. I don't think you can go wrong with POR, but the extra ameneties and atmosphere of the Polynesian may be worth the splurge if you will spend a good deal of time there.

Good luck.

We also stayed at the Poly last year in Tokelau and had a magical vacation. In my opinion if your money is not limited to the point that staying at the Poly will not make you skip anything on vacation I would stay there again. With three kids the extra room in the room would be nice along with the day bed. Depending on the age of the children the convience of the monorail may be worth it instead of having to take a bus everywhere or even your car for that matter. Just my opinion, with that said I can not afford to stay there eveytime. Last year was the exception instead of the rule wish I could stay htere everytime.

I agree with the above comments. I love the Poly as well and it can be costly. I am currently saving to be able to go next year. I believe that the convenience is so worth it, but if it is a hardship to go I wouldn't do it. I just love the atmosphere and other extras as well. So, to me I think its worth it.
Now, if all your planning on doing is sleeping there at night. It may not be worth it!!

I can't speak of the Poly because we've only stayed at POR but we did love it alot there. From the kids, to my senior citizen parents, to me we all loved it there. It's laid back southern charm has a peaceful feeling that's great after a busy day at the park.

We stayed at POR (then DL) in 2000 and Poly (tokelau ) in 2002 With 3 kids. POR room is much tighter and less convenient. It was wonderful just hopping on the monorail at Poly or TTC, but I can't justify that expense for our family every time. This year weare spreading out into 2 rooms (& bathrooms) at Pop. Poly will always be a favorite though .
