No, are other places sold out too? Closest I’ve gone is last week of August. Crowds weren’t bad but it was hot.
I emailed and they said they haven't started releasing rates for that far in advance and to check back later. They were super quick to respond and that's already good in my mind. I'm so used to extreme advance booking for DW lol.

Stay at the cheapest motel on harbor in a 10 min walk. Park vue, Camelot, best western park place inn... you really can’t go wrong.

I wanted to add I see 3/10 crowd calendars... they’re very inaccurate now. Especially since maxpass. Don’t count on that. Go on your trip when it works in your schedule.

Okay I might just go with the cheapest. Is it bad not having the extra hours every day or not so much?

Also, Best Western Anaheim has free parking and Best Western Park Place doesn't.

If there’s a chance you’re going this year you can buy through LTM club.the price is going up in the next month. If you don’t go this year then value of the ticket can be applied at the ticket window next year.

Do you know how long the tickets last before they expire?

That’s great! Another reason we keep going back is they’re super friendly and CS is great. DL is definitely less planning than WDW, which I love. I’d go with a place with free parking, since you’re driving, unless a place that charges for parking is is a lot cheaper. I think you’d be happy with PVI. Also coffee, water and warm cookies are always in the lobby, nice little stop on way or way back from the parks :)

Does it stink not getting the extra hour every morning? We will have 3-day park hopper tickets so I don't know if that makes a difference. We should still get one day with an extra morning hour right?

I find booking direct through the hotel your staying at is a lot of the time cheaper...We will be staying at Camelot iNN Tomorrow, they have a special atm if you stay 5 nights or more your get $20 off per night. were staying 15 nights so Ita a big saving for us.I originally contacted Tropicana for our stay but they offered me a fAMILY Suite in their sister hotel Camelot Inn with the suite right at the front of the hotel with a balcony and it was a little bigger then the rooms at Tropicana....
Our go to hotels normally HOJOS but they had no suites available for our stay. I also would have gotten a $600 savings booking direct through hojos.
It is so hard deciding the right one for you....Good Luck..

I've got a huge list going but the three I like the best right now are Tropicana, Park Vue, and Best Western Plus Park Place. I LOVE that Park Vue has a room with a King bed and a jacuzzi tub. That basically has sold me along with the fact that they have free parking and free breakfast.

You mean the extra hour for not staying onsite? That does have its advantages for sure. But I think with the time of year you’re going and probably not being crowded, it’ll be worth giving that up to save a grand. Unless you stay at Grand Californian, your walk from PVI will be closer and that’s a huge perk IMO. Maybe just weigh the pros and cons of each place you’re thinking of staying. I like staying onsite if I can find a deal and it’s in the summer to take advantage of the pools. But even then, last time we stayed at DLH the pool was either closed for cleaning or so packed we could barely move. Oh another perk of staying at PVI...if you arrive before your room is ready, you can still park in their lot before checking in. Same is true for the day you check out. That’s a great perk if you want to go to the parks or Downtown Disney before or after checking out. Others charge for that.

Usually end of the year. So 12/31/18.

I’ve stayed at bwppi several times. My sis too. Then she stayed at the bw Anaheim inn because of availability. It wasn’t as good. But Tropicana is looking good with free parking and free breakfast. Just compare them.

I’ve basically decided to stay off site now. I think we will just go to the park that doesn’t have an extra hour in the morning. That way we are getting there when everyone else is. Park vue looks great!

Okay cool. I added both best westerns to my list. I might end up going with park vue anyway. Tropicana doesn’t have free parking or breakfast but park vue does.

I don't find not having an extra hour effects us any. We used to stay onsite and use our extra hour but we don't even notice not having it when we stay offsite.
We like to actually sleep in and stay til they kick us out. And don't worry about being in the park with the early hour afterwards, if you have hoppers, the parks are so close that you can walk in between them multiple times a day. We switch parks 3 to 4 times a day

Wow really? I guess it’s just hard for me to imagine going back and forth between the two. Can you get a FastPass for either with your phone no matter which park you’re in?

yes you can

if you have MP you can get them even when you're out of the parks.

Wow that’s pretty cool. I thought you had to be in the park that the fast pass was for. What’s a good strategy for getting a lot of fast passes?
