Stay at HHI During Beach Renourishment or Extend WDW Days?

Just found out HHI will be undergoing beach renourishment during our time there in May. We have 5 nights at VGF May 14-18 and 2 nights at HHI before heading home. We really wanted to take the grandchildren to the beach. Need advice/suggestions on whether to keep reservation as is or add Disney days. Vero Beach is out of the way for us as we live in Upstate SC. We would have to move to a different resort or do a split stay if we extend our Disney days.

We're in the same boat. We had just planned a beach weekend there and are not sure if we should keep that reservation or not. Very disappointed because these were points that we needed to use by June and feel kind of stuck now.

Not much available at WDW if we decide to extend our stay there. Hate switching resorts for a split stay anyway, much less to a resort no one wants to stay at.
