Staterooms that sleep 5

I've decided that we absolutely need 2 beds that touch the floor for our kids. Neither child is fond of bunk beds. Can I request a room that sleep 5 without paying for a 5th person? I assume the 5th bed is a wall unit that pulls down in front of verandah doors? If I am wrong please tell me what kind of room this is? The bunk bed thing from ceiling or upper wall will not work for us. We are sailing on the Fantasy if that helps.

You don't pay by how many beds are in the room. You pay by how many people are in the room.

It would probably be easiest to call DCL and request a specific room in order to get one that has a Murphy bed. One note, there are some 4 person rooms that have the Murphy bed, instead of the bunk bed. Hopefully the person on the phone can tell you the configurations of the rooms. If not, ask to speak to a supervisor, as they may be able to find that information out for you.

I loved our last room on the Dream. It had the very large port hole you could sit in and murphy bed. There were only three of us. I slept in the bed, my youngest son on the couch bed and my older son on the murphy bed. I believe it was a family ocean view room but check with travel agent. They can help you find the exact type of room you need.

We had the deluxe family ocean view that slept 5 for the 2 of us. It was nice and roomy

Thank you for advice. Is it safe to assume if cabin sleeps up to 5 they have they Murphy bed?

The "up to" is the tricky part ... On Disney, from what I've noticed, you pick cabins for 4 - 5, so I find it best to do a "dummy" reservation for 5 and the cabins they'll show you will sleep 5 for sure. From what I've noticed, if it sleeps 5, it will have a murphy bed. Cheers!

As a family of 3, we have stayed in staterooms that sleep 4 and those that sleep 5 without problem - we always simply book a specific stateroom.

Yep, this is exactly how we booked our upcoming room on the Fantasy. We are in the same boat and my youngest will not sleep on the drop down bunk and my 6"2 will not sleep there as well so that only leaves a room with a murphy bed and the sofa sleeper. We just put in 5 people on a "mock" reservation to find rooms that accommodated 5 people then booked just the 4 of us by requesting that specific room. There is a file somewhere that also confirmed what staterooms had murphy beds and the ones that didnt but not sure where that post went on Disboards.

Thank you for posting this. I have switched our stateroom that has a murphy bed. Our cruise would have been miserable if we had to use the upper birth. I would have been sleeping with a 12 yo in our bed. NOT GOOD.. LOL.. Thank you for all your help and positing this.

You are so very welcome!
