Stateroom worry

We're taking our 3rd Disney cruise in August. Before we've been on Deck 7, in a category 8 room. I decided to save a little and get a cat 9 on deck 2. Well, now I've read in two places that our stateroom, 2120, is one to avoid because of "noise." Neither the DCLTribute website or the Passporters book say exactly what kind of noise to expect. I purposefully made sure we weren't under the nightclubs, but I'm wondering what I"m facing and am ready to try to get a different room

Has anyone stayed in or near 2120 that can tell me if we're talking engine noise, elevator noise, etc? Some things we can live with; others we can't.

thanks in advance for any feedback

We just stayed in 2646/2648. These are also listed as "noisy".

But we did not have any problem.

I would compare these to the noise a furnace or AC makes in your house. After 10 minutes you don't notice.

I did notice the money I saved nearly covered my shipboard account!

Our family stayed on deck 2 cat 9 and LOVED it! We had cabins 2120, 2122, 2124, 2138, 2140. We personally had conn. 2124 and the only noise we notice was in late evening w/slight movement from floor above. We enjoyed being one floor down from dining, close to the elevator which was never crowded, and no hall noise. The portholes are huge 3' - 4' foot and you still have bath and half. There was also a laundry room near by - but, if you're like me - you will go by it and not in it...LOL!! I have also stayed on deck 7 and must admit I enjoy less movement on deck 2. Enjoy your cruise!

We just stayed in stateroom 2084 and LOVED it. It was also listed as a "noisy" room but we did not notice any noise. I really enjoyed the location. I would stay in that room again in a minute.

Hey Jim I like your new fish... did you throw back the other one?

on 2 separate cruises....phenomenal room, excellent location near aft elevators, and as quiet as can be....

I honestly don't know why some of the staterooms on deck 2 made Dave's noisy list....particularly those toward aft, and not under any noisy venues i.e with heavy foot traffic and/or play thumping music.....IMO the worst staterooms were under clubs/restaurants...speaking from experience, we had stateroom 2520 on one of our first cruises....it was very noisy....

Our family stayed in one of the"noise" areas. It was noise from the engine. I actually loved it. Great for sleeping. Not much hall traffic either.

I love deck 2. The only "noise" problem I've had (in 9 cruises on multiple decks) has been from fellow cruisers who can't understand the request to be quiet in the halls at night. We do avoid rooms right by the elevators, but ship noise has never been a problem in any room on any deck. If you are in a supposedly "noisy" room, it is white noise that just becomes background. I have a bit of a hearing loss, and it isn't even enough that it bothers my being able to hear "around" it...which is common in "noisy" places.

thanks all! this has been so helpful and put my worries aside. I'm going to keep our current stateroom, save some money and have a great cruise!

We were in 2020 and loved it you are very close to the restaurants, and We never had any trouble with noise. I do have a travel noise machine and always listen to the ocean, so that helps with any noise but our friends were right next to us and they loved thier room too.:teeth:

We take a "white noise" machine with us when we travel, seems like you had it built in!

I've heard some great things about deck 2. My in-laws have a Cat 9 ressie, but I chose 8 to get up higher. I think they'll be happy, but I'm trying to figure out if we'll like 5 forward. I haven't heard anyone comment on that. Please, let me know what you think.
