Stateroom square footage

Is it true that the square footage difference between the cat 8, 9, 10 and the cat 5,6,7 is just the verandah or are the rooms actually different sizes?

It is the verandah that adds square footage.....

That is what I had thought from what I've read, but my TA is telling me otherwise. Do you know this from personal experience? I was hoping to hear from someone who had stayed in both types of staterooms...

from personal experience, we stayed in cats 5, 6, 8, and 9, and they seemed exactly the same size to me....except of course for the cats 5&6 verandahs....I assume cat 10 is same size sans porthole or verandah....

We have stayed in a cat 8 & 10 and I have been in a cat 5. They were all the same size inside the room. The only difference with the cat 10 was the layout of the furniture since there isn't a porthole. They have the bed in the back of the room, which actually worked out better for us so we didn't have to walk around it like in the other categories.
