We just received our docs:D . We were assigned room 6116, which I noticed is by the elevators. Has anyone had this or a similar room. Is it loud? I can sleep through anything, but dh hears someone sneeze a block away he wakes up:rolleyes: I believe the cruise is sold out, so there is not much I can do regardless, but I just like to be prepared

Hi aa4mom,

We love the staterooms by the elevators. I remember the first time we had one I was a bit afraid of the noise level, I too am a soft sleeper. We had no problems and found it quit convenient for saving a few step. Always in a hurry to get somewhere, a meal, a show, a movie, BINGO, a party, etc...

Have a great time.

I'm glad to hear this, Ginger. Our room is pretty close to the elevators this time. Last time we were midship.

Is it true that the motion is worse in the front of the ship?

We were in 8032 which is about as close to the midships elevators as it gets, and never heard a peep.

I don't remember the cabin #, but we were right by the elevators on our last cruise. I LOVED it. It was so convenient, and not noisy at all. I'd love to be there again.

We have been close to the elevators a couple of times and never noticed any excessive noise. And believe me, I am VERY sensitive to hallway noise so I definitely would have noticed! You will really enjoy the convenience of that stateroom location.

I just left you a note on the other thread but here goes -

I was in this cabin in early March and found it very convenient but did NOT notice any noise from the hall. My cousin (early to bed-late to rise) spent more time in the cabin that I did (late to bed-early to rise) and never mentioned anything about the noise interfering with her sleep. We even had a Happy Birthday poster on the door one day for people to sign as they walked by and I once opened the door as two people were signing it and I hadn't heard them there.

I booked the same hallway but inside cabin for September 20, 2003 because it was so convenient and quiet.

You might want to consider earplugs though - just in case but I don't think you will need them

Have a great time.

thanks for all the positive news. :D

I am so excited I just can't stand it anymore.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
