We are a family of 5 (kids who will be 15, 12 and 7) at cruise time about a year from now and are thinking of 2 interior cabins next door to one another. The category 11 inside staterooms have the bathroom that is all in 1 room. The next category up, DELUXE interior stateroom have a "split bath". What exactly does that mean? Is the toilet area separated? Is there an extra sink or is their a separate shower from the tub? My son is saying he doesn't like tub/shower combos and prefers a separate shower stall but would that be an upgrade to a much higher category?

Split bath has toilet and sink in one room, bathtub with shower and sink in the second room. There are no separate shower stalls on the Wonder except in HA cabins.

To get the split bath, you'll need to move to a cat 10. BUT he'll still have the shower as part of the bathtub, not a separate stall.

Only you/he can decide whether it is worth the extra money to have the 2 bathrooms. One point--the cat 10s have the double steamer trunk as well (more storage space), but with 2 cabins for the family, that's not a huge deal.

The split bathroom is basically not much larger than the single bathroom in total area, but it is in 2 smaller rooms. One room has the toilet and sink. The other has a sink and the tub/shower combo.

I've read it's really quite nice to have when you have kids sharing the same room with you. We've only every been DH & I , so it's a little bit more than we need, but handy.

:cutie:

Thanks for the quick reply. Guess Cat 10 is also slightly larger in sq feet? But probably not worth it. That was a quick answer so now I won't search for the illusive separate shower stall!

We like the split bathroom as one person can shower and then move to the toilet/sink bathroom to finish up while another showers. We totally think it is worth the price!

The rooms without split bath have a closet half as big as the rooms with split baths...just before your write it off.

Interesting to know! I've only been on one cruise in the smallest 11b cabin (no split bath), but we had 2 rooms for my family of 4 and we had plenty of closet and other storage space. I'll be in a larger cabin w/ split bath and verandah on upcoming cruise so it will be interesting to see if the closet space is noticeably larger. Don't know that I'd really like the closet to be twice as large - I think I'd rather have it for living space! LOL! I suspect that a larger closet would be much more appreciated with a family of 4 in a single cabin rather than just 2 as I've been and will be.

For the split bathroom you will have one room with the toilet and a sink.

The second room will have a sink and the bath/shower.
