Cruising next April for the first time. We are Cat. 9. Are all of these rooms basically the same or is there a particular room number I should request? 2 adults, 2 children(6,9)

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the boards! I am pretty sure the interior of all category 9's are the same although some only sleep 3. They are mainly located on deck 2 with a few on deck 1. There have been some reports of noisy rooms on deck 2. Here is a link to DCL Tribute which lists those rooms.

Try to stay away, if you can, from staterooms around 2520....We had a horrendous experience in that stateroom....loud as can be...it was under one of the clubs....

Mikepro - Welcome to the board. Hope you find all of the info you need here. The people are friendly and have lots of knowledge. - Mike

We just cruised in a CAT 10 Inside Stateroom that slept four, room 2141. It was a great room, would stay in it again if I would cruise again. It was exactly comparable to a Verandah room on the 7th floor that I saw, without the Verandah of course. Can't say I would spend the extra $$ to upgrade. I actually liked the complete darkness at night and the sligh hum of the engines. Otherwise it was very quiet down there, with exception of rude and obnoxious people that can't keep their voice down in the halls early in the morning, but you could have that in any hallway.

Just wanted to pop in to say "Welcome to the cruise boards!"

We will be sailing in less than 2 weeks and we are in a cat. #9 deck 2 midship. I'll let you know what we thought about our room and it's location when we get back.

We were in cat. 9 (2554) and liked it very much. Next cruise we'll have 2102. I wouldn't want a cat. 9 on deck 1 because of the two small portholes. Deck 2 has one large (3 ft. diameter) porthole (much nicer, IMO).
