Hey Guys
I was wondering if anyone has stayed in room 5024 on the Wonder. We were told about this secret porthole room. I looked at the view online and it looks pretty obstructed. I don't know if we should get this one or just go to a Cat. 9. But we aren't sure about being on the lower decks. :confused3 Any suggestions? Thanks

:earsgirl:

We have SPH rooms booked on a future cruise. I would keep the room. Don't think of it as an obstructed view. Think of it as a free window for light.

I agree. You're essentially getting a cat 9 room for a cat 10 price. Yeah, it's obstructed, but will you really be in the room enough for it to be a real concern? I'd keep the room and spend the extra $ on a souvenier or something :goodvibes

OK first, you are getting a category 8 for the 10 price with the large porthole. :) I felt the same way after booking it as a surprise for DH. I questioned my decision but checked it out while onboard the Magic on our last cruise. The ships are set up the same way. I went to the doorway when it was being cleaned one morning & looked in. I was SHOCKED to be able to see blue water...and ALOT of it! :) The view isn't nearly as obstructed as it looks in the picture on Dave's site. It has alot to do with the angle the picture was taken at. IMO with as much light coming thru the window and the amount that I was able to see all the way from the hallway, the view is wonderful at a discounted price. Have a great time!!!

The picture on the website that I saw makes it look really obstructed. Almost everyone has suggested taking it, so we probably will. Keep the opinions coming though :wave2:

Careful...............while you are thinking about it you should probably book it!!! It will be gone when you finally make your decision. pirate:

She said that she would hold it until Thursday, but the problem is that I wanted to use my Disney Visa for the deposit but I just signed up for it yesterday and doubt it will be here on time. My mom has a Disney Visa and thought about using hers, but I am not sure that would gain/solve anything. Any suggestions?? Oh and thanks for the advice so far. :flower:

We'll be in that room next month!!! I've looked at the pictures of it too and thought it looked like most of it was blocked...but, then I noticed that in that picture they have the curtain covering the part that looks like it isn't blocked. So...I'm thrilled with 'lbgraves' review of seeing blue water from the hallway! :bounce: That's encouraging!!! I wish they would've pulled the curtains back before taking that picture...hmmm, maybe I'll have to do that when we're in it next month! I could share the picture of it when we get back!!!

Well first of all I got my Disney Visa question answered :goodvibes Also, I just found out that we can either have room 5024 or 5022. Dana from micdan.com gave me a number to call and ask about the obstruction. That would be great if you could share your photos.!! Thanks :sunny:

Go for 5022. Was in this room on the March 12 magic it was great. There was no obstruction. Just a platform that looks like a diving board.

Besides the room is only one floor up from the Walt disney Theatre (very convenient) and just around the corner from the elevators.

We had both of these rooms(us in one and in-laws in other)both were good but if you have a choice get 5022. My nephew was surprise as the view was only a little obstruted. To get an even better picture of the view go to *****************. good luck and bon voyage.
