So I got a quote from State farm insurance for my automobiles and it is about $837.00 difference from what I have now. I am currently with Liberty Mutual and have been with them for 18 years or so. I've checked into homeowners also and State Farm is a little cheaper, not much maybe around $50 or so. My question is to you who have State Farm Insurance, how do you like them? Have you had any issues when having to submit a claim or with billing or anything. Also if you had State Farm and no longer have them, why? Thanks for the replys.

we've been with them since around '88 or '89. We've only had a handful of claims, they've been great with us. We had hail come through here last year and they had two claims adjustors in our area. One was a subcontractor (?) the other was a company man. The company man tried to save them money and denied as many claims as possible, the other guy just did what was right by people. We found out what was going on, called SF and let them know we did not want this guy. He had tried to set up an appointment to come by the house and was rude with my husband and argumentative. He even had his wife trying to set appointments up, she was just as bad.

They also set up tents in the parking lot of Home Depot to write claims for the cars. They did everything pretty good and said if we had any problems just to call. I think we've only had 6 claims in all that time.

Did they give you separate quotes or multi-line quotes? Also, since we've been with them for 10 years they gave us a discount. I think there might be levels of that also, max is 10 yrs from what we were told. We have three cars, home with two riders and life through them.

We had to use our SF when my MIL was watching our house. She flushed our upstairs toilet that ran down into the kitchen and then to the basement. It ruined some of DH's nascar stuff. I told the claims guy the amount and I had a check a week later. They were also great with the handyman who repaired my ceilings and walls! DH and I have been with them over 20 yrs.

In the 5 years we have been married DH has been in 2 accidents and I have been in 3 (all but one not our fault.) State Farm has been wonderful each and every time, including 2 of the people who hit us not having any insurance coverage of their own.

I used State Farm for 10 years and had 0 issues w/ several claims- one being a sheet of ice that flew off another car and smashed my windshield which was technically a hit and run. They covered the body damage and my rate stayed the same. We don't have them anymore because when we bought the house Nationwide came in $400 cheaper for the multi-line and the agent is a family friend.

I doubt you'll have any issues either!

Been with State Farm for my personal insurance since 1981 without any problems over the years. A claim here and there again without any problems.

I love state farm and wouldn't THINK of having another insurance. (and no I don't sell insurance :lmao:). We had to put a claim in on our house and cars 2 weeks after moving in... and two weeks before our wedding. The claim was in the $30K range and they were GREAT! We got all of our repairs done in a timely manner with checks in the mail made out to us a few days later to pay for the repairs. The back of our house was hit with hail and we needed a whole new roof, new gutters, new siding, and 6 new windows. We also needed dent repair on my husband's new (BRAND NEW) minivan.

I totaled my car (fight with a deer... the deer won). The insurance agent I worked with (outside of my own) asked me if I wanted my car totaled or if I wanted it repaired. I was worried about engine damage so I said total it! They wrote me a check and put it in the mail, gave me a rental car to drive in the meantime, etc! They seemed SO concerned when I told them what happened. Actually, when I got my new car it was a Sunday evening (like 9pm) and I called our insurance agent and left a message on the machine with my vehicle information so I could drive home and be insured. The agent called me back within 10 minutes. On a Sunday at 9pm!!!

State Farm is SERIOUSLY great. I've NEVER EVER had a problem with them and I will stay with them forever and ever. Our insurance agent, actually, recently passed away and they let us know as soon as it happened and gave us contact information for a new agent in case we needed him.

They're so great. Make the switch! :cloud9:

I just changed ALL of my insurances to State Farm and it saved me a FORTUNE!!! Love them!!! :thumbsup2

We've always been a State Farm family. Long before I was even born, my parents had all of their policies with them. Once I got married (86) DH switched from Allstate to State Farm and the bill for him dropped by about 1/2.

We've had 2 auto claims that were our fault. One was the day that my first DD was born. DH backed into someone in our apartment parking lot. The second was more recently. My 2nd DD (18yo at the time) hit a parked car. In both cases, we lost our accident free discount but we weren't charged any type of surcharges.

About 3 years ago we had a homeowners claim for hail damage to our roof and siding. Our premium didn't go up at all for this (it was over $13,000) because it was a storm and not something specific to our house (fire, plumbing...).

I have to say that I don't think that we'd ever switch to a different company. Being with them so long has given us discounts that I'm sure other companies wouldn't be able to match.

We've only had a few claims but they've always been quick and efficient. We've priced other companies but none of them can match what State Farm charges.

We've always had SF. Never had a bad experience. It's why I've never really compared rates.

Can't say enough good things about Statefarm!!!! We had a pop up camper that was destroyed by ants and water. We had moved from Va to Pa back to VA due to company downsizing... anyways I thought we had put our pop up on the policy when we moved back to VA since we had had it insured from day one with Statefarm. To my horror it had not been put on the policy... HERE IS THE GOOD PART!!! State Farm said that they would pay for the damage since it had happened when it "was" insured ... I about fell over!!!!!! The policy hadn't been in play for almost a year

We recently just changed over to State Farm from Allstate to save about $50 per month ($600/year).

The agent actually sold me a $15 per month $50,000 life insurance policy because I would then be eligible for a $12 per month multi-line discount.

So...I'm saving $50 per month...and I have car insurance and an additional $50,000 term life insurance policy. We had State Farm years ago and we never had any trouble. We switched to Allstate because they were cheaper a few years back...and now State Farm is cheaper so we are back.

Speed :teleport:

LOVEEEE State Farm! We've had a few claims. Only one our fault. Our rates have not gone up. I wouldn't even fathom how much they paid out on a car accident me and my dd were in. It was a very very awful crash. I spoke with them while we were still in the hospital and that's was that. The claims adjuster met my fil at what was left of the totaled car and didn't hear anything else from them. We also have our house insurance and life insurance with them. We get a multi policy discount.

We had State Farm since 1964. We insured two homes from 1988 on. Also insured three or four cars all this time.
so imagine our shock to get a letter dropping us in wisconsin since we had two claims in two years, amounting to $3000. One of the claims was for a lightning strike and it is illegal in 48 states to drop a client for an act of nature, but we got dropped. The funny thing is that we have a superior rating for insurance. They also went back to 1998 and included a claim against us for a claim in Illinios when someone stole my purse and my Illinois agent said change your locks on both houses, so the $84 charge for Wisconsin home counted against us, and was used against us 11 years later.

We had them for years, never any problems. I did like their customer service...however, checked prices at Allstate and they were much cheaper....about 40% less. Nothing personal, just switched for the $$$$.

I had State Farm insurance for years and only had a few issues with them. I moved my insurance to Allstate because of a homeowners insurance dispute, but as long as you only use them for auto insurance, you should be fine.

I have had State Farm since I was 16. Overall never any major problems with SF. We have 2 auto policies, homeowners and life. We have a ton of comp claims for hitting deer and etc; they have never raised our rates!:woohoo:

We use SF for everything - car, home, life, jewelry. We have had homeowner's claims and car claims. Never a prob. with SF. We love them!
